Spoon Feeding
Learning is an important thing in life, no one can promote to the next level with out learning. Now a days learning should be improved in multi ways, since that everything in the life is based on the learning, education and experience. Learning can be found mostly at school, where the students learn from their teachers. But unfortunately sometimes schools conduct the learning or education in a way that doesn’t help the students to use their ideas and abilities. And this learning named as ‘’dependent learning’’ or “Spoon-feeding”.
Spoon feeding mean that you are giving or teaching an important information to someone without letting them find the information they wants themselves. People in general, especially students, like to have all the information they need for them to pass the exam with high grades. Spoon-feeding in general can be in any field not only educational part but it’s the most common situation. This strategy can harm the students because it will not give them a chance to learn and think and thinking is a part of learning. People learn when they put effort and try to think by their own even if it is hard at the beginning. Once students depend on someone else and share the same idea, they are not using their abilities and they might have a unique or new idea no one has it. (Mohanan, 2000)
According to Prof Mohanan in his paper ‘Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning. There are two methods of thinking and learning which they are the ‘’ the
As it stands right now, I am faced with a dilemma based on the methods in which I have taught in the past, and the new methods in which I feel are more suited for todays learning environment. Our social and educational community is divided on whether traditional or more modern methods of teaching are more successful. In my opinion, every method in teaching is the same. They deliver a message to the students and are generally
Every teacher has its own way of selecting and developing a technique for teaching and may draw various experiences to get the attention of the students. This is called teaching methodology or pedagogy. The teaching methodology facilitates the learning process of the students. The students become productive if
I learned that our thinking can make bad decisions. Our thoughts can change with comparing things. We can say no to one thing, but if it is compared to something else that can change our mind. The comparison can make things look different in our mind to make us make a different decision. The information that I learned is important because it helps you to look at things differently now. Sometimes it is best to stick with your first choice or decision and can cause an irrational decision.
Without direct instruction, students cannot learn on their own. They need to be taught how to do certain things to be able to be productive in life. They need to learn how to follow direction to be able to get to the correct answer with understanding.

Education is a significant aspect in human life. However, to learn more on education, one ought to understand learning as a word. For instance, education is an activity initiated or undertaken by one or more agents designed to effect transformation in the attitude, skill and knowledge of communities, groups or individuals. While defining the term, emphasis is placed on the educator, who in this case is a transformation agent who presents reinforcement and stimuli for designs and learning activities to induce alteration. The word learning puts more emphasis on the individual receiving the change.
1. Autonomous learning is a unique innovative technique which is actively implemented in the academic transaction process. It implies gradual switch from traditional teacher-centered studies to a self-learning process, when students are placed in such conditions where they are to employ their critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication skills in addition to the problem-solving skills that will make them experts on a subject studied through project- work, group work etc. For Example- A project on garbage disposal in class V was given to make them learn about environment and sustainability.
Learning is gaining knowledge or skills through experience, study, or by being taught. So what does it mean to learn? To learn, it means to expand your knowledge so you can use it through out your life. It means not making the same mistakes by using what you already know. The knowledge you learn will help you on whatever journey you are taking. Learning new information will make you think. And thinking can get you through tough situations and it will make you make wiser choices. To me, thinking means to question and explore diffrent aspects of a situation as you enter a inner world of thought. This is what to learn and to think means to
It's only halfway through the year, and I've already learned so much from your class. It's definitely been fun, but I've had my stress-filled moments as well. Luckily, I 've had you and all of the other teachers to aid me through this. You've taught me so many things, not just in science, but also skills I'll require once high school and college come around. Thanks to all of those detailed lab reports, I've developed a sense of self-discipline and responsibility when it comes to getting vital work done. I've never been skilled at managing time or studying, but this class has undeniably helped me improve. I also learned that it's perfectly acceptable to mess up on the occasion, which has greatly shifted my view of my school year. It's difficult to pinpoint the reason, but I've been terrified of making bad grades since the beginning of middle school.
At Indiana University, I have an graduate assistantship in Residential Programs and Services (RPS) as a Graduate Supervisor. The residence hall that I supervise is Forest, located on 1725 E. 3rd Street. Paul Hafner is my supervisor. Being a Graduate Supervisor, I have learned that I play a key role in developing residents academically, mentally, and socially. A resident's growth and development can be achieved in a variety of ways. Being a graduate supervisor, I have adopted the philosophy of learning reconsidered.
No teachers are similar as well as no students learn in the same way. Every teacher has their own unique teaching style which is based on their educational philosophy, their classroom’s demographic, what subject area they teach, and the school’s mission statement. Up until now, teachers are looking for a system that will engage students in the educational process and will develop the students’ critical thinking skills. Moreover, teachers want the classroom to be in order and in control, but they also want their students to appreciate the learning procedure. These teaching styles can be divided into two approaches – the teacher-centered and learner-centered.
Every teacher has a different method of teaching. The teachers that I have had in my school career have been no exception. In this way, each teacher has set an example for me, as a future teacher, to follow or not to follow as I see fit. With the examples from my teachers and in continuing my education, I am developing my own method of teaching. I plan to use a combination of teaching methods in my own classroom. My method will be an eclectic approach because I will be using components of more than one philosophy. I will be using essentialism, behaviorism, progressivism, and existentialism.
As Daniel J. Boorstin said, “Education is learning what you didn 't even know you didn 't know.”
Learning is best for students whenever their teacher applies emotion, gives them the requisite support and challenges them. It is through such process that students gain in-depth learning and thus discover their values, abilities, passions as well as responsibilities in learning situations that provide adventure. In most school lessons, students undertake tasks that require them to use their creativity, self-discipline and craftsmanship. It is thus the work of the teacher to assist the students discover their hidden abilities and overcome their fears in applying their knowledge to classroom and job problems through in-depth teaching practice.
The learning experience should be that of a collective nature where students are able to indiscriminately relate to the information, re-teach the information and have a balanced incorporation of all the learning centers in society; including the home and the church. The goal of this incorporation is to create a balanced learning environment that facilitates holistic development in the young mind. As professionals entrusted with the shaping of young minds, teachers must facilitate learning and personal, spiritual, ethical and academic development. My philosophy for education is a multi-part philosophy that encapsulates the idea of holistic and inclusive learning. The philosophy caters for the overall shaping and development of the young mind and includes aspects of balanced training, incorporated teachings and it generally focuses on training students to become teachers.
