Brief Biography of Whitney Houston Whitney Houston had been an actress and a singer. She had been born August 9th, 1963 in Newark, New Jersey. Her family had already had a musical reputation as her mother was Cissy Houston and her cousin was Dionne Warwick. In 1978, she had sung with her mother as a backing vocalist in the song, ‘Every Woman’. From there she had also sung as a backing vocalist with many different artists. In 1985 she released her first album ‘Whitney Houston’ and it had become the biggest selling album at the time. She had also starred in a hit movie ‘The Bodyguard’ co starring and befriending actor Kevin Costner. The singer had been an inspiration to her audience, to the world. She had been a creative woman, cared and loved by many. In 1992, she had met her husband, Bobby Brown and had their only child, Bobbi Kristina Brown. …show more content…

In 2002, she had admitted to using alcohol, marijuana, cocaine and prescription drugs and it had been revealed that her husband had been doing it with her. In 2003, there had been a call of domestic violence in their home. Whitney had been seen with a bruised cheek and cut lip. Her husband then turned himself in for the crime and was later charged. In 2004, she had checked herself into rehab and two years later filed a divorce with her husband. From there she had began to lose her balance in music and received bad reviews when going on tour for the first time in a decade. As time went on, she still struggled with her drug and alcohol addiction. At the age of 48 on February 11th of 2012, Whitney had been found dead in her hotel room from a drug overdose. A year after her death, her brother, Michael Houston had been interviewed with Oprah. He had admitted introducing Whitney to drugs and that it had been his fault she even started, claiming that they both didn’t know the risks of
