Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare is a story of two lovers at first sight, set in Verona Italy. It starts with a heart broken Romeo forced into looking for a new love. He finds Juliet at the party and they are married by the next day. Unfortunately, this is a story of tragedy. There is another fight between the Montagues and Capulets. Tybalt kills Mercutio, and in an act of revenge Romeo kills Tybalt. This causes Romeo to be banished, the story enters a downward spiral leading to the suicide of Romeo and Juliet, who caused Romeo and Juliet's death would be Tybalt. Tybalt kept increasing tensions between the two families, creating repercussions that eventually led to Romeo’s and Juliet’s deaths.
Tybalt creates more tension between the two families. In Act 1 Scene 1 Gregory and Sampson, both of different families, start fighting in the streets of Verona. This causes Benvolio to enter the fray and try to end the fight before it becomes out of control. Tybalt stops Benvolio’s effort, and challenges him to a duel. …show more content…

In Act 3 Scene 1 Benvolio and Mercutio are walking in the streets of Verona when Tybalt starts to prove them with insults. To Benvolio’s dismay, Mercutio and Tybalt start to get more aggressive towards each other, leading to Tybalt starting the fight, “Boy this shall not excuse the injuries that thou hast done me. Therefore turn and draw”(3.1.67-68). Romeo and Benvolio try to stop the fight, but just get in the way letting Tybalt kill Mercutio. Romeo has no choice but to kill Tybalt otherwise he would have killed Romeo. This leads to Romeo being banished, never to be allowed into Verona again.
