Thomas Jefferson was the greatest president. His career started around spring of 1804. Jefferson was the third president. When Jefferson was done writing the Declaration of Independence he left Congress 1776. He was elected governor from 1779 to 1781. Jefferson started as a trade commissioner but then was Benjamin Franklin’s successor as a minister.
