“A house divided against itself cannot stand,” this quote was spoken by Abraham Lincoln in one amongst his notable speeches, however what he meant regarding this quote is that every one of us united we'd do amazing things however if we tend to be divided we will fail, in alternative words if we tend to be united we are able to finish several things like, world hunger, pollution, etc.. However if we tend to be divided then the planet would be a location where no one trusts the people surrounding, where it’s fully dirty and unhealthy.
This quote relates to the thesis statement of this essay that is: Abraham Lincoln was the best president within the history of the U.S, because of his awesome leader ship, political skills, and integrity.
In 1982, forty nine historians and political scientists were asked by the Chicago tribune to rate all the Presidents in five categories: leadership qualities, political skills, appointments, and character/integrity. In 1st place stood Lincoln. He was followed by Roosevelt, George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, President Jefferson, Jackson, Woodrow Wilson, and Harry Truman. Abraham's parents, Thomas and Nancy Lincoln, belonged to little Mount Baptist Church, a Baptist congregation in Kentucky that had split from a bigger church in 1808 as a result of its members refused to support slavery. Through their membership during this anti-slavery church, Thomas and Nancy exposed Abraham and Sarah to anti-slavery sentiment at a really young age. After settling in Indiana, Lincoln's parents continued their Baptist Church membership, joining the big pigeon Baptist Church in 1823.
