During World War II, the world faced one of the most devastating genocides. This genocide is known as the Holocaust. A systematic mass murder of six million Jews and five million non-Jews. This includes gypsies, homosexuals, Polish, Russians, Jehovah Witnesses, politicians, and the mental or physically disabled. This totals out to eleven million people murdered over something preventable like hate and racism. The world learned from this that these actions can lead to terrible things. It’s our job to remember the past and learn from the mistakes made.
Hitler and the Nazi party came into power during January 1933 in Germany. They believed that Germans were the superior race. This meant that they thought Germans was basically better than everyone

But, it’s not until you put that number into perspective, you realize what it actually means and how large it really is. You realize that it represents eleven million people with families, lives, and dreams. Someone within this number, was a newlywed, or a mother of a newborn, or a star athlete. All of these things taken away, or melted away, because of a preventable thing, racism. For my project, I have decided to represent this. I chose crayons to represent each group affected by the holocaust. I based off my color off of the small triangles assigned to each group in the concentration camps. Yellow represents the Jewish, black represents gypsies and the disabled, red represents the polish, russians, and the politicians, purple represents the Jehovah Witnesses and pink represents homosexuals. I melted the crayons to show all the dreams taken away. The Holocaust could have been preventable. All of these people would have lived. The newlywed would have lived a long happy life with their wife or husband. The mother would have experienced her newborn child growing up. The star athlete would continued to grow in his or her career. But, these dreams melted away for horrible causes of racism and
The tragic events that occurred during world war two and the holocaust were not only horrific but also morally wrong. The Jewish culture was targeted for mass genocide, by the hand of a mad-man bent on world domination, and the only way to prevent another incident like this from happening again, is to thoroughly educate the public. The actions and events that Hitler and his followers proposed not only helped the world realize the extent of his destruction but also how horrible it would be if the events were to happen again. The aftermath of the war and holocaust left half of Europe in ruins, and more than six million Jews, Homosexuals, Gypsies, and Africans dead, not including
In 1940 Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Nazi Germany. Hitler, with the support of Germany, begins his quest for world domination and purging his nation of all those he thinks are impure to his new aryan race. These people are the Jews, the disabled, gypsies, those with different political views, and those who are gay.
Throughout the course of humanity, we have experienced terrible transgressions in our society. Although they took place sixty-one years apart, similar horrific events from the Holocaust (1933-1945) and the Rwandan Genocide (1994) occurred. In Night, the Holocaust was the systematic, bureaucratic, state sponsored persecution and murder of approximately 6 million Jews by the Nazi regime and its collaborators. The Nazis believed they were “racially superior” so they killed the Jews because they were deemed “inferior” and needed to be eliminated.
In 1933, when Adolf Hitler rose to power he set out to have world domination and to have the whole world fall under his control. He thought that he would be creating the Third Reich that would last a thousand years. And on September 1, 1939 he invaded Poland and was about to conquer the rest of Europe and have them fall to his feet and he made sure Germans had enough living space and make sure that the entire German race was taken care of. But Hitler couldn 't do it alone, he needed the help of the SS and Gestapo. Which had more power than modern military forces.
Hitler along with the Nazi party rose to authority in 1933. Hitler believed in Anti-Semitism views. These beliefs said that the Jewish people were to blame for Christ’s death (Allen 10). By 1939, Hitler had invaded Poland and planned to use Poland for slave labor. After this, Poland was becoming the epicenter for Nazi’s loathing
Hitler and the Nazis gained power on 30 January 1933. By March that year Hitler had total power over the country.
Imagine a world where families, friends, and neighbors that you have known for many years are no longer dependable. They can very well be your enemies. Giving you away to the Nazi’s simply because that was the social norm. Day by day, your loved ones are taken away to concentration camps and never seen again. This was the nightmare that all the Jews had to face on a daily basis during the Holocaust. Hitler understood the power of speaking up, which is why he shot down any means of rebellion with total force. He also brainwashed the German youth; removing the ability to think for one’s self. The end result, was the slaughter of six million innocent Jews by the end of World War Two. I repeat, six million people died in the most horrific and inhumane ways possible. Many of you must be thinking. “The Holocaust occurred a long time ago, how could something that horrible occur today?” And those who think that are truly wrong. The Bosnian Genocide that occurred in 1995, was the cause of 8,373 innocent lives. Not to mention the mental and physical injuries that occurred during this
Genocide and Holocaust Research Question: Why does genocide and holocaust occur? Review of Literature: Genocides and holocaust occur every once in awhile, but have you ever wondered why it happened? Well, genocides can happen because of anger to an ethnic group, race, or religion, but it can also be to gain power over a country or ethnic group According to Megan Banaski (Jan 6,2014) she has research information over the Holocaust and she did a before, during and why it happened paper.
Hitler believed Germans were racially superior and deemed Jews and other ‘undesirables’ a threat and ‘impurity’ to the community. In 1933, before Nazi Germany came into
Elie Wiesel, a Holocaust Survivor, Nobel Laureate, and International Leader of the Holocaust Remembrance Movement once said, “How does one mourn for six million people who died? How many candles does one light? How many prayers does one recite? Do we know how to remember the victims, their solitude, their helplessness? They left us without a trace, and we are their trace.” Many people perished during the Holocaust and World War II, the deadliest war of them all. Hitler and the Nazi Party had many mass murder programs and killed over eleven million people. During the Holocaust, the Germans’ and Nazi Party targeted many different types of people, impacting how they were viewed at that time. First, the Nazis attacked the nomadic Roma
Nowadays, there has been a major concern that everyone has underestimated one of the worst genocides in the history, the Holocaust and moved on. - Thesis statement: We should never forget about this sorrowful side of history or about its enormous negative impacts on the whole world. - Reasons: We should always memorize about this not only because of the importance of remembering history but also because we, therefore, can raise people awareness, do something to heal the victims’ pains and prevent this history occur again. “Six decades after the end of World War II and we are still learning how a mass genocide like the Holocaust is affecting it’s victims” We are still learning and gathering information. (Barel, Efrat, 2010)
Hitler came to power in Germany in 1933, after World War 1 when tensions were high because the Treaty of Versailles blamed Germany for the destruction the war caused and they were faced with the payment for all the damages, which sent Germany into economic downfall. The Nazi party got a lot of electoral votes that year in the government, and started
The Nazi party was formed by a man named Anton Drexler. It was founded in February 24 1920. They were also known as the German workers party. Adolf Hitler would not become leader until 1921 although being part of the party since it was first started. They practiced Nazism which was like Nazis were the best much like nationalism except instead of believing in their country being the best they believed Nazis were the best. This is why they killed some 5.5 to 6 million people of the Jewish race. The
