Just imagine how much of a load-off you would have if you didn't have to pay for the University you wish to attend to! The NCAA Division 1 and Division 2 provides more than $2.7 billion in athletics scholarships annually to more than 150,000 to student-athletes. The average scholarship for an athlete is $10,400. People say they disagree with this because not everyone gets a scholarship. Only four sports offer the full ride to all athletes who receive scholarships; football, men’s and women’s basketball, and women’s volleyball. Yeah sure there aren't a lot of chances of getting a scholarship, but there are ways you can have coaches watch you or recommend you. For instance, YouTube. Video tape yourself. It doesn't have to be long, 8-10 minutes of your best ethic and it will help the coach decide if he would be willing to have you. Plus, you would be practicing your best, which, means you yourself will be able to see how good you are or how far you have come from the beginning of your training or
As kids go to school and meet new people, they become introduced to a variety of activities and sports. Some kids find that they really like multiple activities, and they peruse in them. However, as they grow older, it will be hard for them to manage their time since they will always have somewhere to be. This should convince parents that kids should focus on one sport.
In, Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?, it states that sometimes the only way to go to college in this tough economy is through a free ride (Do). This means that scholarships are often necessary for students to attend college. Parents cannot always provide enough money to send their children off to college. This is where scholarships come into play. Although some individuals disagree and believe sports are dangerous.
After reading Children Need to Play, Not Compete by Jessica Statsky I thought she brought up some very valid points. I do think that this is a topic that should be scrutinized. I have a different view of the subject. I think that competition can be physically, and psychologically harmful if left unchecked by "abusive/uncaring" adults. I do think that with the right, caring and team work fostering environment competition can fostered without harmful effects, and can lead to learning lifelong skills that can bring emotional joy.
From the outside looking in, collegiate athletes live a life of luxury. They have the opportunity to perform the sport they love in front of massive crowds, and some are provided an opportunity for free schooling. Although this is undoubtedly true, outsiders are not capable of comprehending the true hardships associated with college athletics. Although they are granted acceptance and often a scholarship to their school of choice, they are not truly granted the opportunity to utilize their school’s academic resources to their fullest potential due to the immense amount of time that they are expected and required to devote to their sport. These activities include film review and playbook studies, team meals, traveling to and from games or

So you’re probably thinking why should kids play a sport well i’m here to tell you why. They should play all least one sport a year so they can actually go and get some exercise instead of being on their phones texting, or play a dumb game. Another reason a student should play at least on sport because their coaches will teach them how to become a young man/weman. A sport will teach
“It's not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up,” said legendary football coach Vince Lombardi. The game of football will truly teach those who play it to get back up after they’ve been knocked down, in life and on the field. On Sunday, February 7th, people all over will be attached to their televisions, tuning in for the 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl and watching the game that has been around for over 145 years; a game that should be open to all ages, including children. In this situation, there are too many rewards that outweigh the risks to consider stopping youth football. This sport gives so many amazing opportunities for children and keeps them healthy too.
The AHSAA (Alabama High School Athletic Association) reports that a total of 90 home-school students have joined junior and high school athletic teams during the 2016-17 school year, with only 13 playing the marquee sport of football. Homeschooled kids should be allowed to play in public school sports. Everyone should be allowed a chance to prove themselves, no matter what. No matter where they are from, no matter what they do, no matter even if they are homeschooled! If this was you, not getting a chance to prove yourself. What would you do? Would you want to make your mark on the world?
Dating back to 1892, a new threshold in American sports history was achieved. The Allegheny Athletic Association had defeated the Pittsburgh Athletic Club. More importantly, William Heffelfinger was paid $500 to participate on the AAA team, thus birthing Professional Football. As the years passed, American Football has seen an exponential progression, including the introduction of children’s football associations. While there is a numerous group of parents who have no problem with their child being involved in football, recent revelations would begin to grow concern in some. It is because of this we must ask, should parents disallow their children from participating in football, or should they focus on the more positive benefits that the organized sport could have?
“Touchdown!” What would you do if a full crowd of people were staring down at you and a thousands of fans were depending on you? Well, that’s how every football player feels at every football game. However, America’s favorite sport is in trouble. Some people believe football is too dangerous and kids should not play it anymore. According to ESPN, enrollment in Pop Warner, the largest youth-football league in the U.S., dropped 9.5 percent from 2010 to 2012. Regardless, Americans should allow their kids to play football because it offers athletic scholarships to students who can’t afford to go to college, builds important skills, and get kids physically active.
Parents have always wondered what’s best for their child. Do they them play in a sport or do they keep them out of it? There are many reasons to let a child play a sport and it will most likely keep them out of trouble. Not every child is perfect however but it might help.
Over the course of a year, there is only a 10% chance that a child playing a contact sport, such as football, will get a concussion. As early as the age of 5, parents enroll their children in sports. Every four years every country across the planet partakes in the biggest sporting event; the Olympics. Athletes spend countless hours practicing for their spot on the podium. A podium for three individuals denoted with a first, second, and third place finish and medallion. However, in today's world, children who are playing sports, are growing up all standing on the first-place podium and are all handed participation trophies. YMCA leagues, Little League Baseball teams and every other major youth sports program exemplifies the fact that everyone who plays deserves a trophy to feel accomplished, but that is unnecessary. Giving participation trophies to students gives them a false sense of success later in life.
When a child is not interested, that "support" soon turns to unwanted pressure. Pressure can often make a child athlete feel forced to both play and perform to satisfy her parents, removing one of the key components of a positive experience in sports: enjoyment"(2017). This demonstrates the unwanted pressure can cause players to feel unsupported and make them feel that they want to quit the sport that they are playing. Similarly, in the article “Pushing too Hard too Young: Take Away the Fun Factor in Sports and Kida Can Burn Out,” the author stated, “ "Of course, many parents are a positive force, supporting their children and making sports participation possible by taking the time to drive kids to and from practice and games. But parents who live vicariously through their children can be problematic, experts say. It's one thing for kids to dream of Olympic gold medals or Super Bowl rings and to work toward those goals. But it's another matter if parents are pushing their kids to do something they don't want or pressuring them to succeed in a way that’s hurtful"(Stenson, 2004). This means that if the child does not want to go that fair in their life with sports and parents try to
