Calling myself an AU Eagle would be a tremendous honor. As someone who seeks to pursue business, the opportunities appear limitless at American University. I am confident that I would successfully contribute to the vibrant student body and flourish as an AU Eagle.
How can I put into words a drive so strong it has been on my mind for several years? I will have to start at the beginning; I have always been fascinated by flight, but more specifically rotary wing aviation. I didn’t know being a helicopter pilot was something attainable until a few years into my military career. Before then, I had always held pilots in the same regard as legends; the stories I had heard fell on my ears with a reverence that made the pilots seem almost beyond human. Pilots were talked about and written about and were in movies, but weren’t actually people, not something a new private sees as possible to do. When I finally saw two actual pilots in line at the Post Exchange it hit me, they are people. What do I need to do to
My desire as a child to travel the world led me to my education at Pace University, first of my many destinations. The teaching methodology, the process of assigning homework, the serene atmosphere in the campus and the ever-helping faculty and staff have already instilled confidence in me. This has helped me ease out of my comfort zone to explore and innovate. Gaining my higher education in America has exposed me to a whole new set of scholastic vocabularies such as credit hours, GPA, courses, Greek life involving sororities and fraternities and
I aspire to attend the Clark Atlanta University because it is a symbol for past and future generations of educational and operational excellence. Clark Atlanta University is the hub of African American leadership and educational expansion, and with the constant policing of the community and poaching of black culture in today’s society, it is significant that I achieve an education that represents myself and the world with which I am familiar and intend to change for the better.
As a young man entering my senior year of high school, my mind races as I try to figure out what it is that I’ll commit my life to. What will be the driving passion, the purpose of my existence, the reason I get out of bed every morning to face another day of this life? Some people would try to encourage me to choose a career simply for its potential to make me wealthy. However, looking at the degenerate lives of the rich and the famous around the world, its apparent to me that the pursuit of earthly riches alone isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. I’d rather spend my days in pursuit of something more fulfilling. As far as I can tell from my
The diversity at Hofstra is commendable as people from all walks of life contribute to the intricate community at Union, which invariably is a learning curve for the student as the student is exposed to a dynamic environment. While conducting research on the partnered sororities of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, I discovered particularly fascinating attributes associated with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. What fascinated me the most was the sorority’s distinct dedication to education, sisterhood, mentorship, and international service. I desire membership of the first organization people look to for help; that is Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. This sorority has made its way relevant from 1908 to modern day and progressively moving forward. I want to be able to say the same thing about myself.
Coming from a small town on the east coast, I would have never expected to fall in love with such a large and diverse college like the University of Michigan. The upbeat atmosphere of Ann Arbor alone was enticing enough before I even saw the actual campus. Upon visiting, I quickly realized the University of Michigan was a place I would not mind spending my next couple of years. From the countless students all around to the wide variety of shops in town, Ann Arbor seemed like a lively and exciting place to spend my college experience. While walking through the campus, I was continuously amazed by the large intricate buildings surrounding me. Some of my favorites included the Law Library, the College of LSA and the Michigan Union. While I do not plan on attending it, the Ross School of Business was also an incredible
From a young age, I have been fascinated by making things and learning how they work. My educational experience and community service projects have given me an appreciation for engineering from project managing and constructing my Eagle Scout project to enjoying my chemistry and physic classes. I plan on obtaining a degree in Engineering because I enjoy taking something from conception to production and I am interested in the science and math behind
The United States Army is one of the main factors that allows America to be a free and democratic country. The Army defends, protects, and honors the United States of America. Ever since I was a young boy, I saw greatness in the United States Army and hoped to one day be a part of it. I always envisioned myself in a leadership position and when I decided to join the Army, I knew being an officer was for me. To me, being an officer in the U.S. Army is a career unlike any other. There are many opportunities as an officer in the Army to advance, further education, and grow as a person. The army allows you to switch your MOS and attend more training to further education or to change careers completely which is something
I am a first generation college freshman from Miami, Florida by way of Broward County, Florida, and I am majoring in Film and minoring in psychology. Although FAMU does not have a film department, I chose to attend FAMU and take classes for my major at FSU because I wanted to attend an HBCU & learn about my culture, while studying with like-minded peers with the same cultural background as I. My godmother, a beautiful and intelligent African American woman, whom I esteem very highly, attended FAMU and genuinely enjoyed the education and experience, so I decided to follow in her footsteps to FAMU, but make my own path.
In 2014, I completed both my CCAF degree in Aerospace Ground Maintenance but also completed my AS in computer Science from Richland Community College in Decatur IL. Just last year I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a 3.79 GPA from Averett University in Danville, VA. I was also invited to become a member of the Sigma Beta Delta honor society for business students who graduate from business school in the top 10% of their class. I was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta honor society in October of 2015.
The pursuit of academic excellence is my primary educational goals, therefore, UTSA Honors College is instrumental in my educational journey and acceptance into the program will be monumental accomplishment. From
I wish to attend Texas A&M because the academics and atmosphere promise superlative growth for me during my college education. I want to be an OSA because I want to ensure that incoming freshman are well prepared for the college experience. When entering a college campus, becoming acquainted with the people and the daily routine can be hard. I would love to become a part of the whole process. Being a working, full-time student, I believe I can provide a viewpoint for those who wish to work and let them know that it is possible. Also, I currently work for the Auxiliary Services office here on campus. Therefore, I can answer any questions regarding meal plans, Bear bucks, and other dining services offered here on campus. I know, personally, receiving all of that information on a single day, during orientation, can be really overwhelming. I wish to become a part of the
My background includes serving as a customer service associate within many different environments. Most recently, I worked at the customer service desk for Whole Foods Market-Saint Paul, where my responsibilities included handling customer merchandise returns, issuing refunds/store credits, answering phones, and back-up cashiering during busy periods.
