Precautions must also be taken when avoiding hazards, and preventing illnesses, accident and injuries; there are precautions especially when looking at illness, illness is important as if a child is ill then they must take time off from the setting until they are better to make sure that no other child gets ill. Accident and injuries can be prevented by ensuring that the setting is kept safe, is it also important as it can help provide activity to encourage children to be aware of the dangers and responsibility for their own safety which can mean something like telling children to walk instead of running when in the setting. Within my job I have a duty of care towards all of the children and young people.
