Freshman year can be very challenging for every high-schooler. For instance, a student will not be used to the new schedule. According to my sister who’s a graduate from Ravenwood High School and is an intern at Vanderbilt University, well-rounded students should memorize their class schedules. As a result, getting lost would be a thing of the past. Her advice shows that by being organized, freshman year can be more effortless. Not to mention, she added that freshmen sometimes forgot about how essential their G.P.A. is. As a result, my sister explained that students should pay attention to their G.P.A. because it’s extremely important for the rest of high school. By striving for a qualified G.P.A., colleges would be more interested. In addition,
Since the beginning of Freshman year I realized that education is a really important foundation to reach my educational goals. One of them is to become an outstanding student in which I can be a role model to my sibling or those who consider their education is not crucial to their lives. My skill to motivate people has always been my desire to encourage others. I have develop this skill through school, volunteer experiences, and even within relatives. For example, in the College and Career Club, I am assisting is a way that I have express and show motivation to incoming freshman’s in our school. During our meetings, there was this freshman student who had negative vibes towards education and had in mind she didn’t have the capacity to go
For starters, ever since my freshmen year my fellow leaders educated me on the importance keeping my grades up in order to receive the GPA I hoped my parents, teachers and colleges to look at. Never did I realize that balancing grades, extra-curricular activities, a job and maintaining a social life was not as easy as they made it appear through their joyful expressions. In order to stay
says "I hate you, you little bitch."India grabs the nerdy girl's hair and throws the first hit. India continues beating the on the nerdy girl and nobody seems to break it up ,half of the teachers had their phones out recording the fight "world star hip hop gonna make me famous night,"said Mr Howard my sexy physical education teacher. "Maybe I can finally leave this bummy ass job in the town and buy a boat,"said Mr howard. “ That's enough India.” says Lauren India wasn't listening and kept punching the little girl, Lauren had enough and pulled India back and walked away with her “Come with me.” says the principle sternly “Aw shit!” says India “ Excuse me?!” says the principle “Nothing” said India “Thought so to my office now!” says the principal Just like I told India she got ten days home suspension, but not only that when she comes back she has extra five more days of in school suspension that means no more senior activities for a week.
When the end of senior year of high school comes around there are two decisions to make: to get a job or go to school full-time. Of course getting a job is what everyone wants to do, but sometimes it is easier said than done. In some cases, some people cannot handle going to college and having a job. However, some people do try to handle both, but eventually grades will start to slip. Most kids in high school do not take it as serious as they should. High school is only the beginning of the rest of a person 's life. Some might ask, why not have a job in school? When students think of reasons of why not have a job and go to school, they would say that they could still get paid for doing work, putting in hours of time to complete a task, and the stress that comes along with doing the task.
In my opinion, freshmen students need support to be successful in their first year of college. These students face many transitions their first year. For many, this is their first experience of living independently, requiring them to learn to meet their needs without the support and structure of their families. This is a stressful time in in their lives. This transition requires adjustment on numerous fronts, including but not limited to; learning to schedule time for responsibilities, unfamiliar academic structure, greater academic demands, financial demands and budgeting, unfamiliar social demands, and career decisions. Freshman students are assaulted in all facets of life simultaneously with little preparation for, and awareness of, what
The School system's faculty is suppose to work for the best outcome for students in their future. So if the school's system is voting for the B average or above, they are clearly not doing their job. These new rules have been coming in effect since many believe technology is becoming an uprising career. Some students are not the smartest, but are the best at the sport or enjoy the sport, it has happened in the past before, and the past has been correct before.
Being a freshman on any sports team is tough, but being a starter on the varsity team as a freshman is downright terrifying. My ninth grade year, I played on the junior varsity volleyball team one time with my classmates; after that tournament, I was pulled up by my coach to play with the seniors and juniors, and I was truly afraid.
Over the past few years, I feel like i have matured so much faster than other people my age due to the lack of excitement in my life. I realize my senior year is so important, but i can honestly it has been one of the most difficult times of my life.
High school helped me become aware of the fact that I’m not the best, but I’m okay with that now. Being in advanced classes with advanced students made me feel like I didn’t belong in there. Freshman year was when I realized I had a problem and that problem was self-doubt. I wasn’t confident in my work. The significance behind this is I struggled with it for about two years and never mentioned it to anyone, but I’ve dealt with it and I’m a stronger person now.
As the last quarter of my high school career nears its end, I can’t help but think about the last three years of high school and how much I have evolved. Freshman year I was far from the quiet person I am now. I was very talkative and much more outgoing. I used to play basketball for the school and that was my only worry at the time. There weren’t any SATs like junior year or college applications like this year. The last three years flew by so fast that I never got a chance to actually see how much I grew until now.
You rarely saw students run late to their classes in my high school. This was due to the fact, that you faced serious consequences if you arrived late to your class. The school believed that if they taught students to be on time to their class, they wouldn’t face any problems in the future, whether it be on a job or an important meeting. In fact my high school did monthly drawings for the students who had perfect attendance for the whole month. The school didn’t give away any prizes, they gave out pretty good things, such as T.V’s, IPod, and cameras. This really got students going to school every day, and who wouldn’t. This idea worked well for them because you were expected to attend ninety percent of the days for the year. If you failed to
“Hard work pays off; Hard work pays off.” I have always wondered, when exactly it was going to pay off. As a 16-year-old junior in high school with a handful of opportunities, I had only one goal in mind: get the best grades possible for next year’s graduation. This goal meant I had to enter senior year with a secure seat as the valedictorian. But when I received my transcript in the beginning of my junior year, it said senior. The title of senior was due to the credit equivalence of an average New York senior in high school. This crucial information whipsawed me between being the valedictorian or becoming an early high school graduate. That was the moment I decided to take fate into my own hands and become an early high school advanced regents graduate. However, my success in high school led to the opportunity to accelerate to senior status earlier than expected. Graduating a year earlier meant I would get a yearlong head start in my career path. With diligence and resilience, I graduated June 25, 2015 with a mastery in science award, a civil leader award, a National Honor Society member award, and an advanced regents diploma. The moment upon completion, a near impossible goal, my family, friends, and companions in cohort 2015 were all proud of me. It was an accomplishment that shall be remembered for the rest of my life.
When thinking about my senior year of high school I start to think about a tradition that happened every year with the senior class. It seems wired but the senior class always seemed to be up to something every week. I remember thinking my Jr year the my senior class was gonna change how people viewed us. I was so right.
Before even taking your first step into high school, freshmen are already nervously dreading their first day. As you walk the halls as a freshman, very carefully, take in all of your surroundings. You’re definitely going to have to get use to it. You can already tell who is a senior, considering they look like giants compared to you looking so small. As you’re walking around, dodging every senior, just because you feel insecure and sensitive. When you left the Highschool orientation you swore you knew where all of your first semester classes were, but, unfortunately, you forgot where everything was on the second day of school. Between the seniors and juniors telling you your class is on the third floor and other people just entirely ignoring your mass of questions, last nights nightmare, is starting to come true. You are highly surprised that your teacher doesn’t scold you for being late when you walk into class, in fact, other confused students pile their way into class after you. As lunch time approaches and your stomach starts to rumble, you recall that you only have a few friends in the same lunch as you. The first day of lunch, for all grades, is quite a stressful time. The table and seat you choose, are the table and seat you stay in all semester long. This does become a hard decision; no one wants to be stuck on the dreaded end seat all semester long. Of course the first week or two of freshman year can be a bit hard to adapt to, but as long as you are open for change, you can make your freshman year, a year to remember.
In the United States, high school students have complained about not getting enough sleep, being late to school, and not learning for generations. Sleep is viewed as a luxury that active students often don’t have the time for, however, getting enough sleep is a necessity, and is as important as eating healthy and exercising. Most high school students are sleep deprived and have a high tardy/truancy rate, simply because school start times are too early. It is for these reasons that the start time of school for secondary students and younger should start considerably later.
