Why is high school so different then collage? Here are a few comparison that I have experience during my changeover into the collage lifestyle: I used to think that collage is so much like high school. First thing I notice is the workloads. I used to think that teacher will always be after you even if you’re in collage. I used to think that you can turn in the late work for full credit and retake the test as much as you want. This first week of collage makes me realize that collage is nothing alike high school. There won’t be anyone after you, when you have low grades. There will be so many responsibilities. Teacher will start treating you like an adult. In high school, I was forced to learn all the subjects but in collage, I get to learn
The high school education system will be different wherever one lives, but that should not affect how much a student learns. High schools not only need to prepare us for college, but also for work outside of college. This is not the case in many places, however. When taking a look at the American and German high school education systems there are many differences and the outcomes are different because of those differences. The German high school education system is better because of how it is set up and the American high school education system is worse because it is not taken as seriously.
Although college is after high school and the next step into beginning adulthood, it has its up's and downs. It is a closer step to becoming your own person. College still is very similar to high school. When you compare and contrast college vs high school you can say that they are both and both non-stressful when it comes to the work load, the class operation hours and the freedom. When I consider education for reasons unknown, consider high school and college. They are considered one of the imperative parts of our lives. Regardless of whether you enjoyed high school and college or not. It's a part of our life's till the day we leave earth. It sounds a little dark, but it's true. Why? Since we took in the crucial essentials of the subjects we studied, and later will learn the advanced versions of it. Whether it's how to write a well-written essay, basic algebra, world history, and chemistry. Learning how to do presentations in front of our colleagues, or working on group projects with our classmates. When I moved from high school to college, I immediately saw the similarities. These similarities are what bind the two major events together. To understand these two major stepping stones in our life we must find the similarities and differences. When comparing my high school life compared to my college life, I find many differences: roommates, food selection, and time management. I truly believe that you won’t notice the differences until you are a college student because you must experience it before you will know. I have been a college freshman for three weeks now and I notice many differences between home and college life. Living at home while in high school is a blessing compared to college life.
Most Korean students are eager for entering a university. Since, many adults tell students that if you go to the university, you will lose weight and have make a boyfriend or girlfriend. Some people say both high school and university are similar; there are just school. However, high school and university have the indisputable differences: terms which people use, classes, and life style.
After being college for a couple months now I have seen a lot of differences between this and high school. My experiences in high school were overall pretty positive. I had a good friend group, did really well in school, was involved, and played volleyball all four years. When it came to school work and having to absorb new information, people did not struggle since teachers made an effort to always make sure you were succeeding and had all the necessary tools laid out in front of you in order to pass. I always picked up on things pretty quick and could get away with not studying for tests and still get hundreds. It was not often for me to have nights of more than an hour of homework. When I did have more than an hour of work, it felt like the world was ending, I became very stressed. Being involved and balancing schoolwork was fairly easy, and I had a very set routine for the entire week which helped me get through work and other tasks I had to complete. All these things changed drastically when I came to college. Maria mentioned a lot of differences between college and high school that I already have seen in the short time that I have been at USC. Independence is a huge one that probably has had the biggest effect on me. As a college student, class is just there to introduce you to the topics and it is all on you to deeply understand it and feel comfortable with the information. I have to take initiative to go to SI sessions and use places like the student success center
Most would agree that being a college student is more fun than being in high school. Since I‘ve been in college, I’ve seen more freedom that what was allowed to students in high school. Choices such as; how to take notes, the environment and more class selections are a few examples of how college is better and less limiting than high school. Since there’s more educational freedom and I also have more control over my education, I find being in college is more pleasurable than being in high school.

High school is very different from college life, but the way that teachers and other students explained college to me it’s a very hard phase of your life. Teachers explained the overwhelming amount of people making it hard to get to class in time, college professors not letting you enter class if someone is late, tests to be really hard and having to spend an all-nighter to be able to study to pass the exam, no time to be able to do stuff with friends, very hard to pay attention in a lecture full with more than one hundred people, and also they warned about not to take more than 15 hours of college and have a job at the same time.
Time never stops, or if it does, how we will know? We will not able to notice it. Either way, since it does not stop, life continues, and for all of us, it gets harder. As we grow up, we start to experience what we call “real life,” but where does this real life starts and how we know that it started? Well, many of us feel the drastic change of life when we go from high school to college. Students struggle to graduate from high school in order to go to college. They are told that college is hard, but they are optimistic about it. Optimism grows that college might be a different level, but students also think that it could not be that bad. They are right, college is not bad, it is awesome, but it could also be complicated as they have ever experienced it before. There are many things that change in that transition, but as they get into it, they also realize that there also things such as requirements, responsibilities, class size and even the cost of attendance that are very similar to high school. Despite that there are many similarities and differences between high school and college, college is definitely a place that makes the majority of the students grow as individual beings.
