Why Is Writing Important

Writing makes me feel free from my mind and put all my thoughts and feelings into it. It feels calm and soothing when you write. I remember when I was little we always had to write our stories in cursive which always helped me to remember things like my vocabulary. I want to improve on my grammars and my words in the future ahead of me, which will take me to the higher roads of writing. I can say what I want to say and express myself without the fear of being judged. Those who'd judge my writing have no right to read it. I write to perforate my emotion and escape the cruel. Writing is not just marking letters, words, or symbols on a piece of work. My perspective states that writing is not just expressing yourself through words; in fact, it is mostly one’s expression; your emotions, thoughts, beliefs, etc. Correspondingly, according to myself, writing is extremely artistic and evocative way to reveal one self’s personality. Most important, I am in the creative writing class, because I desired to be in it, due to the fact that it is my passion, it is a way I can express myself thoroughly, and it makes me feel as if I am in a whole different world where I can reveal everything I desire.

When I write about things I love, it helps me become really creative. If a person writes a lot , they would start loving to read. Writing allows me to be able to enjoy other people stories and ideas. While reading, a person can broaden their vocabulary, and use those words in their writings. I can apply this in the future by writing more when I have free time, and in schools when I have to write a ten page paper.

Writing allows me to express my views as a student. I have always enjoyed writing well as speaking. By writing first, then preparing and reciting notes, I am able to push through the nervous jitters when I have to speak at work. Writing first, then speaking will help you get a clear message across (Young, 2006). For me, being able to write has been healing. As I am sure most families experience issues of some kind, my family had many issues while I was a child. So, writing was and still is a tool for me to get things out and off of mind. A few friends of mine say they do not like to write and would not do it unless they had to. I encourage them to find something they want to learn about, then read about it and the writing will come. We can become passionate in writing about what we are interested in learning about (Quinn, 2015). Well, I do have to write for this class and for school in general. But, I choose to view it as an extension of what I already like to do, which is express my thoughts and understandings about what I read or study. The only difference with school is that someone is telling me what I have to read or study. This can make the learning less passionate, but if I can find one little thing that I can grab on to, it seems to provide me with a purpose to write.

Writing and reading for me started really young with me. I was learning to read and write before I was 2. My mom was teaching me and I had a Phonex person come to my house and would help. I was a year younger than almost everybody else in my kindergarten class. I was able to go into school younger because I scored high enough on a test I had to take. I was always reading books when I could when I was young which is why I was able to read bigger words than most kids my age could. I was able to read at a 4th grade level when I was in 1st grade. four, my grandmother began teaching me the basics of reading and how to write the alphabet. The hours spent working with my grandmother influenced the love I have for literature. Although I have a passion for reading and writing, I feel this passion slowly fading with age. As I get older, I realize that reading does not seem as enjoyable as it used to be for me. Writing means many different things to different people. Writing is a way to inform, persuade and entertain. I think writing is the best way to express your ideas feelings and thoughts. It also allows you to showcase what’s going on in your heart, mind and life. Writing is something I enjoy very much, but just as easily loath. Writing has always played a huge role in my life. I’ve been reading writing for as long as I can remember as I have an immense love of reading. This love would grow into a love for writing as well; I still stumble upon journals and writings from my five-year-old self about the happenings in my kindergarten class. As time would go on I would discover academic writing, and how to convey my thoughts on what was the topic of student that particular year or semester in my schooling. Later, writing would become a constant for me, and a comfort; I was known to my friends as always having a journal, and a pen on my person. I learned to write down my feelings and my thoughts, song lyrics that were in my head, reflections for the day. I learned how
