I have always wanted a career in which I can touch lives, that is when I discovered my love for nursing. In nursing, I could probably even help to save lives. I enjoy helping people in their times of need. I think it is the most fulfilling thing in the world, and nursing will allow me to do this for the rest of my life. I believe that the cure for many of the people's illnesses is not just in medicine, it is in the care and love that they receive as patients from nurses and the medical team. This is where I believe that I can make a great difference in people's lives. Being able to recognize my own strengths and weaknesses has help me become a better person in everything I have chosen to do in life. One of my strengths would be patience. This strength has lead me on a less stressful path to raising my seven-year-old son. When dealing with my son, whether it is during game time or school work, patience on my behalf makes me have self-control and not get anxious or become irritated. One of my weakness I would have to say is public speaking. Thanks to the speech class I took in college, I have learned to hide my fear while doing a presentation in front a big group of people, even though I begin to blush and I break …show more content…
My hobby is couponing, I love coupons. Clipping coupons does take time, organization and effort. At first, it might take a bit of time and experience to learn how to shop and save money without paying full retail price for an item, but eventually it becomes second nature. I like to coupon because I can save hundreds of dollars a year on groceries, personal care items and household supplies. I do not have to go to the store every time I run out of a product because I have it on my stockpile. I also like to coupon because I can finally buy name-brand items. A couple of months ago I would have bought soap from the dollar store, but now I can treat my family to things that could never buy before I began this
As a course of life, people are born, raised, and go to school until the time comes where they need to make a decision about their career. In fact, most careers have one common theme among them---Help or give back to community and society. I for one have chosen a career in nursing to help people and give back to my community. Other than the fact that I want to help people, a career in nursing will expand my horizons, give me career opportunities, and job satisfaction.
In addition to my personal challenges my personal strengths interfer. A personal strength I have is talking , I love sharing my opinion. Another personal strength I have is giving good advice because I love helping people solve their problem or help make their lives easier. Lastly another personal strength I have is just listening because I am a good person to vent to because I don’t judge. Therefore I always spread positivity and lean a hand.
The career is chose is nursing, I chose this career because I love helping people, I am avid about making sure people are getting everything they need, making sure they get all of their medication so they can get better and can live a healthy life, Being a nurse you will record patients medical history and symptoms, administer patients’ medicines and treatments, operate and monitor medical equipment, explain what they do when going home. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills, talents needed salary and benefits offered and the duties for particular career when making this decision, with my help they could burgeon and get better.
I have always wanted to be a nurse: I do not think there is any task that is as satisfying as treating a patient physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. I first pursued my LPN, and immediately I knew I had chosen the right career path. Every day, no matter how tired and weary I felt at the end of the day, I was invigorated by the sense that I had made a positive change in the lives of my patients. To build upon my capabilities to help others, I then pursued my RN. I am currently in an RN-BSN program and hope to begin a graduate program subsequently to become a family nurse practitioner.
I chose nursing as my profession because I always have had a desire to serve and educate others and nursing, which has given me an opportunity to do that. Nursing is a rewarding career that gives the greatest opportunity to save lives, comfort, and care for them. The nursing profession tends to run in my family and have inspired me to become a nurse as well. This profession is the most demanding and helpful profession in the world.
The career path I have chosen to take is in the medical field. My dream from a young age was always to be a nurse. A nurse is a healthcare professional who is focused on caring for people, and making sure that they manage, maintain, and recover patients to the finest state of health (What is Nursing, par.1). Nursing makes up a vast majority of the healthcare industry. There is a huge range of nursing specialties. Nurses work in General and surgical Hospitals, doctor’s offices, nursing care facilities, outpatient facilities, and home health services (Why Be a Nurse, par. 2). Nursing is an extremely flexible career, with one hundred and four specialties and a lot of advanced nursing degrees, so there is something for everyone in this field (Why Be a Nurse, par. 4). Nurses do much more than just help people heal physically. Nurses are there to make sure patients are taken care of physically and emotionally. There are different levels of
My philosophy of nursing comes directly from my desire to help people. I want to be a nurse because I enjoy being around people in their times of need and I get internal satisfaction by serving those that need help. I remember when I did some volunteer work for a hospital and that is when I realized my passion for nursing. I believe that the cure for many of the people's ailments is not just in medicine, it is in the care that they receive as patients in hospitals and their homes. This is where I believe that I can make a great difference in people's lives by helping them recover from their ailments.
My biggest strength is my adaptability. I always try to have an open mind when I meet others who have different views than me. I see the option for learning in my failures, and always keep in mind my end goal when things don’t always go as planned. My biggest weakness is that I always like to be in control. I like to have a plan, and stick to it. I will overcome this weakness by trusting others to take lead, and stop worrying about things I have no control over.
I choose nursing as my future career because I enjoy working with others, helping others feel better, and educating people. These three topics are all involved in what nursing is. I believe that nursing is focused on the holistic care of individuals and their families in order to achieve and maintain an optimal level of health, a great quality of life, and comfort. This is done through the promoting healthy living, providing a safe environment, preventing illness, and the caring for the individual and the family.
My strengths are my self-confidence, determination, organization, and ability to prioritize. Balancing an overloaded school schedule, upwards of 24 credits in a semester, maintaining excellent grades, raising a toddler, and volunteering are demonstrative of my greater fortes. In terms of weaknesses, public speaking has always been difficult for me, as well as networking. I have branched outside of my comfort zone, engaged in volunteer opportunities, student organizations, and clubs as an effort to improve upon this.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be someone who helped others effortlessly. Whether it be in second grade helping a classmate up with freshly scuffed knees, or senior year helping a struggling classmate with a Calculus problem, I have wanted to be there to assist people. Throughout my eighteen years of life, I have learned that we all need to care for one another. When my brother passed away nine years ago, I had to be there for family and help make them strong again. This is why I want to pursue a career in Nursing. I want to help make people strong, help them persevere, and help them in their journey of life. My journey towards obtaining a Nursing degree will begin at Carlow University. My first step towards my goal is to achieve
My major is pre-nursing and I would like to become a nurse. I would like to talk to my advisor on how I would go about getting my bachelor’s degree in nursing. I decided I want to be a nurse because I love helping people, I can get benefits ,every day I will have something new to do, and I would be able to be any type of nurse for example a school nurse, hospital nurse or pediatric nurse. With this degree it can help me achieve many goals I can be able to love what i do, be a good role model to my daughter, afford stuff that I can’t right now, and relieve stress. I am confident that I will achieve my goals and know even through the hard times in school I will overcome my problems. I want my daughter to be able to look up at me and
Technological advances and genetic discoveries have increased the average individual’s life span. Today’s nurses regularly care for an aging population with a higher incidence of chronic illnesses. People are now living longer and the population is becoming more diverse creating a host of new challenges for nurses. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing has created nine essentials that may be incorporated into any university curriculum to prepare nurses to provide high quality patient care. The third essential discusses the importance of scholarship for evidence-based practice (American Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN], 2008). The term scholarship differs
Over the course of thirteen years, I dreamed of pursuing a career in nursing. This partially due to my mother, an OB nurse, who continued to perfect her career over the course of twenty-five years. As a nurse, an individual is given the privilege to not only deliver an infant into the world but also to hold the hand of an individual who is leaving the world. With people as my passion, nursing presented itself as the perfect career. I could impact the lives of the people around me while practicing a career that I loved.
In fact, there are several reasons why I chose nursing as my profession. First and foremost is that I want to focus on changing people’s lives (Nurse Journal, 2016). As a nurse, I would study the life's value when I would be seeing individuals struggling to remain alive. Since I am fully aware that each life's breadth is a gift, I would, therefore, understand this lesson further as I would be nursing various patients daily. I greatly respect human life, I possess strong values and I am compassionate for empathy and suffering, factors that have further attracted me to the nursing profession. Second, nursing profession allows continuous learning. As I like learning, I would possess unlimited opportunities for advancing my medical knowledge. As such, I would capable of choosing to work in various departments, train to become a medical assistant and as well enter the nursing management where I would grow and mentor new nurses through sharing my knowledge
