Argument Essay
Have you ever been so excited to go to the movie theater but realize you waste almost all your money on food? It is way too expensive. It is not a healthy alternative. You are not aloud to bring your own food. People working at a movie theater should make an improvement on the food served their.
Food at a movie theater is way too expensive. According to Justin O’neil, he says “Why pay five dollars for M&M’s, when you can get them for several dollars cheaper at the corner store?” When I went to AMC, a large popcorn was eight dollars. I wondered why it was so much more money then it is at the grocery store. “Movie theater popcorn has been called one of America’s biggest rip-offs, with a retail of nine times what it costs
Is movie food really worth the price? Today, people all over the world are sneaking food into movie theaters because it is cheaper. Yes, it is ok, what is the big deal? In the article, “Is it OK to sneak food into the movies?”, O’Neill states, “Why pay $5 for M&Ms when you can get them for several dollars cheaper at the corner store (16).” He also states, “... you’re already forking over big bucks for your ticket (O’Neill 16).”
The main argument of this film is how the easy access to the fast foods, allied to the advertisement industry, lack of government action, and the person’s option for rapid and caloric meals are responsible for the most part of the American population is overweight with the tendency to get a sickness related to the obesity.
Movies were meant to sell you a good time, not snacks. Nowadays, movie theaters don’t allow you to bring snacks or goodies from home into theaters. Instead, they have their own stand where you can buy sweets and snacks, right inside. This has lead to people sneaking food into the theaters, whether it's a burrito you bought, or a tuna sandwich you made at home. Theaters have begun kicking or even banning people from their theaters if they are caught smuggling food into the movies which has cause people to complain if it was right or wrong. Here’s the big question though, should or shouldn’t it be allowed to sneak food into the
There is nothing wrong with bringing your own food into the movie theater because their are cheaper prices for food available at other establishments, some people have allergies which limits them when it comes to the foods available at the movies, and some people choose to not eat the movie theater food due to the incredible unhealthiness of the food. Saving money is very important and spending money on movie theater food when you can get it cheaper somewhere else is incredibly naive. Allergies are something that cannot be stopped and when people with these allergies go to the movies they do not deserve to be limited to the foods they can eat there. Some people may prefer to nosh on healthier foods during a movie so that they may continue to eat a healthy diet even during a movie. There is nothing truly wrong with sneaking food into the movie
Sneaking food into the movies are okay, in my opinion. To other people, it is not such a good idea. People who own movie theaters are getting angry at people sneaking food.
Besides being overly convenient to obtain, fast food is also quite inexpensive. In today’s economy, an average American cannot afford to sit down at a nice
One reason that you might bring your own snacks is that the snacks are really, really overpriced. This is an excerpt from the article we read a few days ago, “Why pay 5$ for M&M's when you can get them for several dollars cheaper at the corner store?...a Michigan man named Joshua Thompson sued his local AMC theater for banning outside food...the ban violated a state law that prohibits ‘price gouging’”. As it said in the text, some theaters are forcing you to buy overpriced junk food by banning outside food. That is really mean. Some people might even say it’s illegal to ban people from doing that like Joshua Thompson.
Have you ever snuck food into the movie theaters? Should people sneak in food to the movies? It is not ok for people to sneak in food into the movies. Sneaking in food will cause the ticket prices to rise, the movie theater to shut down, and people can get banned and/or kicked out of the movie theaters.
Abrams’ “71 percent of students said they are unsatisfied with the unhealthy meal they are served at lunch” (1). Another author sums up the interviewed students opinions, “Students reportedly would also like more diverse entrees beyond the heavily processed foods” (Erbentraut 1). Many students have organized lunch strikes, where they demand problems with their lunch be fixed, or they will not purchase from the school cafeteria. Students find it unreasonable that the prices are going up, when the portions are going down
The topic that I thought I should shine some light on are our public school lunches and how unhealthy they really are for kids. Furthermore, how we should provide free lunches to all of the children, because most kids struggle with paying for their lunches at school for all sort of reasons and in some cases school is the only place they get to eat because home life cant afford enough food on some days. Personally, when I attended a public school I received a free lunch because of my parents low income, but I remember the food that was served at our school and it was greasy and not the healthies choice. Also, there were numerous accounts where school was the only time I got food for the day because my parents struggle financially at times. Even
Another reason is that some people have allergies and can't eat some of the food in the theater . Such as sweet tarts ,sour patch kids and also popcorn. So ,if your child or evan a grown person should be allowed to bring in food that they like
To continue building an argument in favor of their product, M&Ms had to decide exactly who and what they would represent in their advertising. According the Infoscout, the main consumers of M&Ms are white, middle age or older, middle class, women (Infoscout 1). With that in mind, it makes sense that the M&M cast are depicted as white, wealthy, adults… but it doesn’t explain M&M’s representation of women.
Nevertheless, it is disrespectful to the Theater and the people around you to bring in your own food. It is proven that movie theaters have to sell their food at a high price. According to the SCOPE article, “Is it OK to Sneak Food Into the Movies?” it states, “If moviegoers were to stop purchasing food, theater owners would have to raise ticket prices even higher” (O’Neil). This shows that if they were to put down the prices of the food, they would have to raise ticket prices.
Movie goers shouldn’t bring their own food to the movies because it could be constructed as rude to others. Some items you bring to the movies could have loud, unpleasant, noises when opening the packaging. For example, if someone were to open a chip bag during a movie it would be loud, annoying, and moviegoers could miss a part of the movie they payed to be able to see. Another reason why bringing your own food into the movies could be considered rude is because of the smell it may emit. No one wants to sit through a movie where the only smell floating around is something horrendous!
go too, the cost of the movie, and visiting the concession stand, which is over-rated and over-priced, but I do love some theater pop-corn. Assume a family of two (one adult) (one child)
