If you already know what you want to do why stay in school longer than you have to? My opinion is, if you know what you want to major in, you should only take needed classes. At Patrick County High School you have to have 14 electives before you can graduate. It would be better and easier to take only classes that you need for your career. Also, if only taking classes you needed was in effect, students could focus more career and get more experience. For example, I want to be a nurse practitioner. I would need to go to college for a minimum of 4 years to earn a Masters Of Science in Nursing (MSN). If I knew what I wanted to be when I get to highschool I would take more classes to help me get prepared for college. On the other hand at
Furthermore, this plan would restore an inspiration in many students to stay in school and motivate other people to go back to school. Older people who couldn’t go to college or dropped out would be inspired to go back and achieve their dream of obtaining some type of college degree. According to Rosabeth Kanter, "Imagine that future: fifty- and sixty-somethings gathering on a college campus for a year or two of advanced study…to eradicate diseases, end poverty, reverse global warming, raise literacy rates” (qtd in Neal). This elaborates on the wisdom and experience that older people have; they just need the knowledge and credits to take their leadership to the next level.
do you think it's important to go to college straight out of high school ?
I would like to attend Kennedy Catholic High School for many reasons. One reason I would like to attend Kennedy is because of the better education as a private and Catholic school. When I shadowed at Kennedy, I noticed that there were a lot of AP class available and enjoyed seeing people were placed at the levels of their needs. Another reason I would want to attend Kennedy Catholic is because of the wide variety of sports that I am interested in such as Volleyball, Basketball, and Football. I also like that there are many clubs to join or create. Specifically, I am interested in joining or creating a cultural diversity club. In addition, from the moment I shadowed, I knew I felt comfortable being there. The kind community, diverse students,
My undergraduate degree is finally complete and I can finally move on to graduate school. What is graduate school going to be like? What should I expect from graduate school? Those are both good questions and I have thoughts on both of them. One thing that is for sure, I am excited about starting graduate school and can't wait to begin. I am so glad I found the educational administration program at UTPB.
I have always wanted to graduate high school and attend college. From a young age, I remember thinking about what an honor it would be to attend the same college my mother did. I always worked hard and maintained a high grade point average, hoping to join the ranks of high school seniors who moved into the college world. The suddenly I learned about a program that could help me reach my dreams sooner than planned.
Having a career is a standard of life that is necessary for the well-being of humans and providing comfort for their families. It is very important to plan ahead for the career that you want to pursue in the future. Doing this can help you make the decision to keep pursuing that career or find a different career that interests you. Having a plan for your future can help you find a job that you are passionate about, and researching your career can help you become more qualified for that job. In this day and age it is getting harder to find a good paying job without a college degree, so it is important to succeed in high school so you can go to college and get a job that has a good salary.
I have a lot of things to think about before i start high school. I’m dreading it , yet i’m looking forward to it. I’m looking forward to the activities and the after school activities , but i’m dreading the grades. High school will be fun, exciting , and even scary at some points.
To a second grade student focused only on the here and now continued learning might be difficult to explain. I would start by asking them what they believe happens after the completion of 5th grade. When I myself was in the second grade I had no idea what happens and I really didn’t seem to care. Next, I would explain how after fifth grade a student will then move on to middle school and then after that into high school. I would explain that all of these years together will get them prepared to live as an adult and possibly even continue their education into undergraduate, graduate, and even doctorate studies. I would explain that after high school students could begin learning about subjects that matter to them to help them become veterinarians, and teachers, and even astronauts. Then I would point out how important it is for them to focus on school and activities they enjoy from second grade on so that one day they will be able to have a job that they love.
I have worked with teenagers the entire time that I’ve worked for the district and being close to their age group has helped me make a better connection with them. Several students have told me, “ You understand where I'm coming from because not to long ago you were where I was”. Many of the students that I have helped me see me not just as a Para, but as a Mentor. I have a hand full of students who are the first to graduate and attend High School in their families and throughout the course of their High School career I have been there telling them what I have done and what areas they should improve upon so that they can be better off in this big world, which to them is frightening (paying bills and taxes).
Even though it would be nice to get out early, even though it would be nice to go out to lunch, even though it would be nice to take a nap, I acquiesced to stay in school for five periods.
Throughout my high school career I have been involved in numerous extra-curricular activities. I have had the opportunity to meet brilliant, well-rounded staff, faculty, and students. All of these people have had a massive impact on my life. As a freshman I did not have a passion for any career field and felt indifferent about college. As a senior, I have learned about who I am and what I can do for others. I learned that I have a passion for helping children excel as both athletes and students. I learned that I love working with computers. I found out how much I love being on a team and participating in sports. As a senior at GNBVT, I’ve gained important life skills that will help me peruse whatever passion I chose.
It was my junior year of high school. This was the first year that they employed dual credit courses to allow students to get a head start for college. Being an athlete, I didn’t know if I was ready to take college courses. Going to college wasn’t even on my mind at the time. I decided to take these courses because not only did I want to get ahead, but I also wanted to see if college was right for me. Even though I was first generation, the goal was to achieve A’s in each of the classes. For each of these classes, I expected them to be just like my other high school classes. It turned out that was never the case. I had so many outside resources to help me study for tests. I developed new technique for taking notes since the professors only

As a kid you are always told you are going to school to later on go to school again. This to a kid in elementary school could be exciting because in their class they still get nap time and play games all the time. After all, we all wish we could go back to the days where we got to sleep all the time. Where as to a student in Junior high, this is when they are still getting fun days such as activity day and or Christmas parties this however is not provided to high school students. This will make them have something to be excited for multiple times. Compared to the thoughts of a high school student, whose main day they have to look forward to is Graduation day. A common question asked is if you think you have received the amount of information
Madisen Beaty said,”Peer pressure is something everyone will face in school, you have to really go by what you think is the right thing to do”. There is too much pressure on teens to go to college. Going to college leads you to have more opportunities for better jobs such as a FBI, doctor, and lawyer. Teens will be able to have a stable life with a house, money, and a family. However, parents never seem to see the danger of the pressures put on the children. It hurts the child’s mental state making them feel like a failure when they fail an exam. Pressure can hurt a child’s physical state because children exhaust themselves studying for exams. Parents believe that going to college rewards all teens with a successful career
