Why We Should Not Be Zoos

My first reason that zoos should be closed is that animals don’t have anything important to them because zoos take it away. Some people go to zoos to see the wild animals, but that’s not all that they are for. People in groups such as PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) may think that zoos cannot provide the needs to wild animals as the wild can. Zoos help animals. They have improved, helping to repopulate species and save animals in the wild.

There have been a lot of problems with animals in zoos. It has gotten to the point where zoos are hated and looked upon as a places of animal torture. Are zoos really that bad? Turns out, they are. They do not have enough space, they do not allow the animals to communicate with each other, and they sell the animals to cruel circuses.

For me, it's not a good idea because there are zoos only become prisons for animals and they were born to be free and live in their natural habitat. Many of these animals are wild and living in captivity can cause some negative reactions. For example the death of gorilla Harambe was unfair because the video circulating on social networks is never an act of aggression shown to the child, unlike acts as if his son besides the gorilla is not responsible for his actions because it is an animal. The fault is of the parents of the child by not being careful. Zoos are terrible places for animals that do not belong in cages. Zoos include roadside zoos, petting zoos, and smaller animal exhibits. The animals they have are meant to be out in the wild not locked up in cages. The areas are not big enough for them to be animals. They are held in captivity with nowhere to go because if they try to break out, they are going to get shot down. Animals are not meant for entertainment. If you want to see an animal there are many websites with live cameras in order to see it. Also, if you want to see animals the animals should have a free range area and the people ride around in cars to look. The people should take the chances of getting beaten, eaten, trampled, etc. Zoos make money off poor animals who have no choice

Sword has two edged, everything in the world also has a double-edged. When people get benefits from something, but also by the bad side effects. The third reason why there shouldn’t be any zoos is because the animals become separated from their original family. When the zookeepers need to get an animal, they get it from a big group of that type of animal. If this happens, the animal gets separated from its original family. When animals get separated from it's original family, the other family members get sad. And that is another reason why there shouldn’t be any

In my opinion I think there should not be zoos. And they have more food in the wildlife and they are free in the wildlife and not in a small area. they can get sick in the zoo, in wildlife they can live with fresh air and they can’t get that sick in the wildlife. There should not be any zoos because animals can die.

There are many valid reasons that animals should NOT be held in these institutions, including the animal's mental and physical health, the poor lessons being taught to children, and the conditions these animals are kept in.

Their shouldn’t be zoo’s because some zoo’s don’t give the animal’s enough space. For example, some zoo’s keep whales and dolphins in small tanks for at least 24 hours so all they can do is spin around in circles. It’s like living in a bathtub.

It is evident that the state of FL should ban zoos. Animals that are geting caught by zoos are suffering.

We should have zoos because that gives people a chance to see different animals. Zoos are a place where animals can still feel like they're in their natural habitat and people can still see them and learn more about them.

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), over 4,000 species of animals on Earth are endangered, which means these species have a very high risk of becoming extinct. They become extinct for many reasons, such as climate change, habitat loss, and poaching (The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species). In the Encyclopedia of Environmental Issues, John Richard Schrock says that organizations, such as the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), think zoos are prisons, which is the complete opposite of conservation groups that believe zoos help in repopulating animals that would have gone extinct without the conservation efforts (45-48). Although many people wish for zoos to close, these places are beneficial and may be the only hope for the continuation of some species of animals.

Imagine walking through the zoo as a child, thinking how awesome it is to see all of those big interesting animals you would never get to encounter in the wild. Now think of walking through the zoo when you are older seeing these same animals in a very different light. Instead of seeing animals happily living their lives you see animals wandering aimlessly around their small enclosures looking bored to tears and depressed. Is it fair that we keep these animals cooped up specifically for our own entertainment? What right do we have to capture, contain, and breed these precious animals as we please? Why should we get to control their lives when they could obviously be living a better life elsewhere? Often these questions are meet with responses of conservation and education, but in reality those defenses have little backing. No animal should be forced to live in captivity for its whole life, which is why zoos should be banned since they are truly unjust to the animals living in them.
