Backpack Attack
The world is patiently awaiting for the inevitable robot takeover of mankind. However, varied school districts in the US do not fear robots, oh no, they fear a bigger and much more crucial threat to the existence of mankind. They are fearfully awaiting for the... backpack attack. In efforts, to stop this attack of the backpack and the annihilation of mankind; they have banned students from carrying backpacks during school. Students are expected to leave their weapons of mass destruction in their lockers. Schools have special intelligence of what backpacks are capable of; the ban on backpacks is due to lack of space in classrooms and for safety precautions.
First off, schools banned backpacks due to the lack of space in classrooms. Schools have special intelligence of backpacks, and know that if backpacks are left in cramped spaces, such as; a small classroom with an over packed amount of students, the backpack

Backpacks are evil, so much so, that they are designed perfectly in order to hide weapons; ranging all the way from guns to swords. The bags can easily attain guns for the students, even though the gun laws are incredibly strict in the US. This is because the US strongly believes that anything with the history of mass destruction deserves to have a gun to protect them from the government. Gun laws are extremely strict in the US and without the backpacks students would not be able to get a gun nor conceal weapons into schools. Backpacks are the only ones that can get and hide guns for students, this is why schools will only allow purses and drawstring bags. Draw string bags and purses are completely incapable of concealing a gun or even a sword. Students may feel pressured to harm others, if they have their bags in class with all the weapons the backpack can
In the New York Times publication called “When May I Shoot a Student” by Greg Hampikian, a Boise State professor of biology and criminal justice, who wrote a letter to the Idaho State Legislature, addressed the issue of a bill which would allow concealed weapons on college campuses. Hampikian pointed out that in past years he never felt it was necessary to pack more than a pencil to conduct his work in class. Hampikian mentioned he has “always assumed that when they [students] reached into their backpacks they were going for a pencil.” He states that, as a professor, he has experienced “encounters with disgruntled students”. Hampikian regards a genuine concern in his line of work. For example, instead of taking responsibility for their own
Although there are many, loving and caring students all around the world. Many students in school could have firearms and drugs on school grounds at anytime around during school hours and after. There are also bad things about searching there lockers you could maybe go through their privacy and personal belongings.
Firstly, a lot of students agree that we should be allowed to carry backpacks. A poll in our school proves that 19 out of 20 kids say yes to this thesis. Also, many middle schoolers complain about having to carry their stuff with them to all of their classes. It can get really annoying if things keep falling or sliding off. Another thing deals with the lockers. Some lockers are hard to get open and that can be frustrating. Especially when the bell rings and the lockers still won’t open. Having our backpacks with us would be so much easier.
In order to increase productivity and learning time in school, administrators should allow students to carry backpacks to their classes. As a result of bringing backpacks to class, students will come to class prepared and organized, with no reason to return to their locker. Often times students forget their supplies and must utilize class time to retrieve the forgotten materials. With backpacks, students will already have their materials with them, eliminating the need to waste class time. Another advantage of allowing backpacks in class is that it will give students plenty of time to use the restroom between classes as opposed to during lecture time. High schools are notoriously larger than middle and elementary schools, therefore the five-minutes
Every day parents send their children off to school with the expectation that they will be returned home safely at the end of the day. However, with an ever increasing number of school shootings some parents are pulling their children out of school because they feel as if school can no longer offer the same sense of security as they once had. Some schools are pressing for the right for school instructors to carry a loaded weapon on campus. School instructors should be allowed to carry a loaded weapon on campus because it helps prevent school shootings, it protects them during school shootings, and gives students and staff an added sense of security.
Guns and schools just don’t mix. Of course, this could be arguable from both sides. Only nine out of our fifty states allow guns on campus. Most private universities have the choice to decide if they want to allow concealed weapons on campuses. As for public institutions with the law in its state, they have no choice. Public institutions only have control of what buildings are limited. There are numerous reasons that it could be beneficial, but it can also be a complete catastrophe just waiting to happen. In today’s society, people feel the need to be more protected because of what’s going on in the world. There have been many reported incidents in regards to guns being abused on school grounds. Guns end lives, so it’s imperative that we understand the rules and why they’re so important. In order for people to really understand the pros and cons of having guns on campus, they first must began to understand its safety hazards, retaliation and prevention mechanism.
In this day and age where school administrators consider backpacks, lockers, and baggy pants to be potential dangers to students and faculty, what will be next? Perhaps pencils, pens, scissors, and glue will be added to the list of items to ban from schools. These, along with other hazardous educational necessities pose real threats to maintaining an orderly school and should be prohibited.
Students walk college campuses thinking of homework, friends, social happenings, but rarely thinking about their safety. Students on college campuses are defenseless against an armed assailant because an armed assailant can shoot and harm many students in a short time before the police arrive. There are opposing views about allowing concealed weapons on college campuses, and the debate has been making news lately with the number of school shootings and people getting killed and injured rising. According to Robert Birnbaum in The Magazine of Higher Learning, “More Guns advocates argue that college students and faculty should be able to carry weapons for their own protection, particularly since history has shown that colleges can’t protect them from assailants” (Birnbaum 7). For students to properly defend themselves against armed assailants, they should be allowed to carry concealed weapons on campus.
John Holder, who is a philosophy teacher here on campus, says, “Carrying weapons onto campus is problematic due to the potential for intimidation and safety issues.” Holder says. “I do not see an issue with a student having one in their vehicle, but having a weapon on one’s person presents a dangerous precedent that would enable those who would do harm to more easily bring a weapon onto campus.”
Assault weapons create a perilous learning environment and have a negative impact on school safety. Many students become frightened
The average college student carries notebooks, a laptop, and maybe some snacks or water in their backpack, what if it held a gun? Although many guns rights activists support the new Open Carry Bill 910 that allows concealed guns on college campuses, gun control laws should be enforced rather than be made ineffectual because guns are rarely used in self defense, it would decrease the number of gun deaths, and the average college student isn’t responsible enough to carry a gun.
The argument between to have or not have school uniforms has been an ongoing dispute ever since the use of them. I have first-hand experience of having school uniforms and having no school uniforms. I strongly believe that school uniforms are beneficial to an individual’s school success/experience.
Students should not bring concealed handguns to school since it could have some bad shoot outs. When major disputes break out, it could make things escalate to fatal or serious injuries. You never know how someone could react if they are upset or angry. Throwing a gun into the mix could possibly make the situation even worse. When things get heated and words are exchanged the
Larry Wilder, Ed. D had spent 19 years at Fresno County Office of Education, and currently directs the administrative services program in the Fresno Pacific University School of Education said, “The National School Board Association estimates that approximately 135,000 guns are brought to America’s 85,000 public schools each day.” This clearly states that there is a serious problem with students bringing guns to school. If school uniforms are implemented, these numbers are certain to go down. For example, the Long Beach Unified School District to require uniforms and in the first year of having them, there was a 50% decline in fights and cases of students with weapons. Other schools have dress codes that require the beltline to be exposed at all times for fear of a weapon in the waistband. Educators say that because of that policy, there was a decrease in violence, fights in schools and improved student achievement. School is meant to a healthy learning environment and by decreasing violence, with the use of uniforms and dress codes, schools are starting to become better learning environments.
It's is a well known fact that kids bring weapons into school. They might just want to show off their dad's new hunting knife or their mom's gun they keep in her purse. Everyone remembers the story of the kindergartener that brought a gun to school. A five-year-old boy from Albuquerque New Mexico was suspended from kindergarten after bringing a pellet gun to school. A teacher at Alameda Elementary School found the gun in the boy's bag after students mentioned he was showing it off. The pellet gun was not loaded. The boy was suspended for three days and school officials spoke with his parents about the incident. These kids might not want to hurt anyone; they most
