Frida Kahlo was born in Mexico City on July 7, 1907. Though she wanted many to believe that she was born in 1910, the year of the outbreak of the Mexican Revolution. Her father was a photographer of Hungarian Jewish decent, and her mother was Spanish and Native American. From an early age Frida's life would be marked by years of physical suffering. At the age of six she was stricken with polio, this left her right leg to appear much thinner than the other, as well as leaving her with a limp. Though she suffered dearly as a child, she was fearless and brave. She was also extremely intelligent.
Smallpox is known as a deadly disease usually bringing its uprising back in the early 70's. In 1973 a young child in Bangladesh caught an unknown disease. Scientist worked hard on the kid and found a regular vaccine to it but it was too late a group of food donors that worked in the U.S brought the disease back home. The U.S went on national alert trying to vaccinate anyone they could. So the uprising came.
It was the winter of 2009, my siblings and I went to go play in the snow. We went to the backyard, and in order to go to the backyard we had to jump the fence. We were having a great time; we made a snow fort, had a snowball fight, but when we were playing tag my brother tripped and twisted his ankle. We were going to take him back inside so we were about to leave but, he couldn’t climb over the fence and it was buried in the snow so we couldn’t move it. My friend Caleb, and his sister heard and we tried to move the fence together. Eventually they gave up, and went back home because their mom was calling them. Which made me kind of angry, but I realized that ninety five percent of friends don’t have that bond that family does. We stayed with
It is a virus that desecrates immune systems and can slowly creep upon its victim due to its potential ten year incubation period. You might contract the disease and not even know it. The virus kills by destroying all your disease fighting T cells, leaving your body powerless to foreign pathogens that we are surrounded by everyday.
First characterized as a mild sickness characterized by adenopathy, a rash, and hardly a fever, George Maton did not think much of the disease in 1814. However, later on, a scientist by the name of Veale gave it the name of rubella in 1866. Rubella (German Measles) attracted hardly any attention before 1942, when it was discovered by Norman Gregg that birth defects were being linked with maternal rubella in the first trimester. It was until 1962 that the full gravity of rubella embryopathy remained a mystery. In that year, two different groups by the names of Neva and Weller; and Parkman, Buescher, and Artenstein; isolated and clarified rubella in a single tissue culture. Encephalitis is a neurological disorder that results in the inflammation of the brain and sometimes the meninges. It is usually due to a viral infection. Most often arboviruses cause encephalitis, by transference via mosquitos to humans and animals. When bitten by an infected mosquito the virus moves from the mosquito into the person’s blood, it then reaches the brain and spinal cord, it multiplies within the central nervous system thus inflaming and damaging nerve cells, this interferes with signals from the brain to the rest of the body. The herpes simplex virus type one can commonly cause encephalitis. HIV has also been noted as an increasing cause of encephalitis. Viral infections like: mumps, chicken pox and measles can also cause encephalitis, but rarely.
The first past the post system also known as the single - member plurality system is a classification in which the country is divided into districts. This system is quite successful as it allows the winner to obtain a majority in parliament. The candidate gains a parliamentary seat by finishing first in a single district. This reform would not achieve the desired effect of reducing the disintegration of the party landscape. This is because, despite its antiquity and simplicity, the first past the post system is becoming less common as it is possible that the party with the most votes may not win the election. Thus, it focuses enormous power in the hands of one party that might only represent 20% of the electorate. It is mainly used in Britain
The Tragic Downfall of Macbeth Imagine that one day you are walking home and these weird looking women stop you to tell you your future. They start naming accomplishments that are happening now in your life, that are about to happen in your life, and that are going to happen in the future. A little skeptical aren’t you? You don’t believe them at first but when you do, you tell your loved ones or your friends because you want everyone to know the accomplishments that are going to come your way. But what if you misinterpreted what the women said?
WNV can result in intricate infection. WNV has spread as a cyclic plague into North America. WNV signifies a mosquito-borne virus which spread in birds. Mosquitoes are generally wandered in the space and usually bite humans and animals. Therefore, WNV can be spread straightforwardly and cause complex infections.
This is an infectious disease. Infectious diseases are disorder that are caused by organisms such as, viruses, bacteria, parasites, or fungi. Some infectious diseases can be passed from human to human
Rabies had been known about since 2000 B.C. but technology was obviously not advanced enough to try and do anything about the spread of the virus. In the year 1885, France and Belgium had become plagued with more and more cases of the rabies that the fear had soon began to become a very reasonable fear for people to have. This gave Louis Pasteur ample reason to research more about the virus.
The origin of the disease has been described at the end of the movie where we find out that a bat with a virus known as paramyxovirus that infects a pig. The pigs that are for human consumption were located near a forest that was being cut down. The pig in turn infects human beings of the earth through a chef. The agent which is very infectious is known as MEV-1 and its potential spread is estimated at 6-7 which suggests that the virus is highly transmissible from one person to the next. The virus has been compared to that of a smallpox virus with a mortality rate of up to 30%.
Rabies is a highly infectious viral disease that can easily ruin and eventually end the lives of both humans and animals alike. Rabies comes in two forms for animals. It comes in the form of paralytic rabies, which is the kind that puts you in paralysis right from the beginning, skipping the symptoms of agitation and excitability. Rabies also appears in the form of furious rabies, which is completely different in the way that it makes the victim restless, vicious and agitated. When humans get rabies, their symptoms start out with simple headaches and fevers and later progresses to terrible things such as becoming hydrophobic because of painful throat spasms and paralysis. A definite diagnosis of rabies needs lab analysis of
Because rabies is transmitted through saliva, the disease is usually brought about into the body by a bite of an animal already infected with the lyssa virus (rabies). Rabies then deposits itself into the tissue of the host (person/animal who has the virus in them), infecting the host and later multiplying. From there, the virus travels from the nerves to the muscles, then to the brain and spinal cord (Easmon paragraphs 8-9). At this point, the virus is multiplying rapidly and soon the brain is extremely affected, which causes it to malfunction and the part of the brain that controls breathing shuts down (Buncombe paragraph 8).
