I disagree with the determination in the notice dated 7/29/2015 because I feel I was not fired for being late. I was retaliated against for opening up an investigation with Starbucks Human Resources against my co-workers due to the fact that I was being harassed and discriminated against. I am African American. I wasn't fired for being late, it was based on the complaint I filed with Human Resources for all the harassment, and derogatory racist remarks that were made by certain employees during my time working. I'm not sure why I put up with it, maybe because every day walking in to work I knew I had to do my job, to make money for school and I knew I wouldn't have to endure the remarks for much longer cause I was going to move for college and transfer to another Starbucks. I knew I had to stay on the right track and do my job. At the time, I worked at Starbucks let me tell you I really loved my job. I knew Starbucks offered great benefits and would be a great company to work for while pursuing my college degree. When I was hired they said we will work around your school schedule, etc. While I was working at Starbucks I didn't have a car. I took public transportation and long boarded to get me to and from school …show more content…
Edward Casper then presented me with two write ups both for being late on 4/4/2015, which I was told to sign even though I disagreed with what was on them. One said “Written Corrective action for no call, no show for Jonah’s shift” I called in that day due to me being sick and I spoke with Guilhem Fronval and kyle Snodgrass; both worked on 4/2/2015. The other said “Final corrective action for Jonah being 28 minutes late for his shift.” I received a right up and final warning on the same day 4/4/2015. I was given no time to fix my actions. According to the EOC, Starbucks was in violation for not giving proper warnings to correct my
On June 5, 2016 I was forced to work an overtime event when Joyce and Vicki Hoak with less seniority purposely took a vacation day the Friday before the event. Once again on Nov. 15 ,2016 I was mandated to work overtime 7:00 am. to 3:30 pm even though Cliff Worthy, Vicki Hoak have less seniority and with Joyce being excluded from all Saturday overtime due to her schedule work day. However, when Danny Kelly and Harry Feals worked Joyce’s routine they were mandated to work Saturday overtime. In both incidents I filed an oral grievance with Scott union steward and talked to Joe director of Maintenance.
I'm harassed daily at Pitt University, Greensburg under the Hands of William Bill Franicola. These employees know they can get away with their action of laughing in our faces, slurs, hand gestures and comments Mr. Franicola is present letting this behavior continue. Nothing is confiding at Pitt after Joe told me he was keeping an eye on Bob Godzik, outside the pole building Donna Myers, Vicki Hoak is pointing there two fingers at Bob saying they are keeping their eyes on you then moving their fingers towards their eyes. They did the same Hand gestures to Dan Kelly when Bob Godzik was present in the office. When Joe changed my work area to Cassel Hall due to harassment from Bob and Julie Godzik after the change there was several anti-Bullying

WAL-MART changed my hours from 9a.m.-6a.m. to 7a.m.-4p.m. This job is in Dallas/Richardson area i live in the South Dallas Area.I depend on Public transporation to get to work. There are a morsel of opprutnities to take public transporation in the early morning hours. This caused me to be late on numerous occasions.I learned from my mistakes by working only in the dallas area excusevly.
Intuitively I knew things were wrong and could not continue as they were. Standing in the middle of the 911-communications center was a shrieking, out of control, Police Lieutenant belittling, berating, and humiliating a co-worker. “Again” this was happening and; again, no way was I going to listen just quietly to it. Being a bystander in life is unacceptable and thus, started my trek through the unfamiliar territory of labor and human relations.
First of all, without a car you have to live in a walking distance from your job. Without a car you probably aren’t going to make it to work on time. If you don’t have a friend or coworker to drive you to your job you might get fired if you show up late to often. Every day you would have to wake up very early so you can start heading towards your job so you can make there on time.

The television show I decided to observe was the Office. The two characters I decided to discuss was Pam and Oscar. Oscar Martinez worked in the office as an accountant. He was considered one of the smartest people among the workers. To be specific, during season seven, episode ten, Oscar made a mistake with some facts he thought he knew about China. When Michael, the manager of the department, proved him wrong, everyone was shocked. He would be considered the information giver of the office because everyone would go to Oscar when they needed to know important facts or information about the company and other topics. Pam Beesley had the task role in the office as a recorder since she was the receptionist. A recorder is defined as a person who
I was informed by the day support staff that ABC’s stomach was very upset today. She had an accident after she got back from her outing with the staff. Both of her briefs were messed up and . Basically, she had diarrhea and she could not eat her lunch. I’ve related the information to the staff at the house to keep their eyes on her. Moreover, she seemed fine when I dropped her home, but she stated that she was just a little bit tired because she went to see PT
While I was in Portland I got the chance to talk to a few key people at Vigor and other companies, the one thing they all said is how hard it is to find good qualified welders that stay. The turnover due to lack knowledge, coming back to work and showing up late or just not wanting to do manual labor anymore is huge according to them.
Upon entry, I was greeted by front desk who directed me to the volunteer office. There I met with the supervisor, Geraldine Jean-Baptiste. We spoke briefly in regards to participant’s performance. She informed me that the participant, Rebecca Lee, was still studying abroad in South Africa. She would return to work mid-February. While at the worksite, I was able to observe a clean and well-supervised office. The exits around the facility were all clear and accessible. The sprinkler system was active along with fire extinguishers throughout the building. This work site complies with DYCD rules and regulations.
The Client I have chosen to observe for this project works with myself and my co-workers at placement. This client is twenty years old but has the brain of a ten year old. This client as I have been told by herself and my supervisor has FAS, ADHD, anxiety and depression. My hypothesis on this clients behavior is that they are just not used to big crowds of people, responsibility and people to talk to so this client gets very excited about being able to feel welcome and important. Some behavioral techniques that I could use with this client are Proximity and Touch Control, Hypodermic Affection, humor and Limitation of Space and Tools. For example I could use Proximity and Touch Control when the client is feeling overwhelmed and the anxiety
After volunteering at Orchard Hill Elementary school, I have recognized many different aspects about the overarching climate and culture of the district, staff, and students. Both of these characteristics play a strong role in how faculty operate and report the satisfaction of their jobs. In order to fully understand the descriptions of these aspects, it is important to dissect their definitions and generate specific examples of how my organization fits into this environment.
I feel like the range of my evidence could have been better.Instead of just using websites, databases and books, I felt that I could have expanded my range of sources to documentaries and pictures as well. The reason I did not do this was because of my poor time management. Next time I am going to plan my time more wisely and research about the even a little bit beforehand so I know how big of an event it is and the controversies that surround it. Another thing I could improve on is my annotations of my evidence. The annotations I wrote were too brief and vague; it lacked in-depth understanding as well (e.g.”This is useful because it shows the consequences of the Tiananmen Square Protests in the western world. The trip back and forth with public transportation was common to me, because I live without a car for the first three years I was in the United States. When I started my first job in Chick-fil-A, I had to spend an hour and half to travel to the store that would only take fifteen minutes if driving. That was the first job opportunity given to me in the United States and I could not appreciate more, so I took the bus for the first week. After travelling there for three interviews and for first couple days at work, I told my parents that I could not make it without a car and they eventually bought me one. With that experience, I really understand how difficult it is to try to be on time when you have to make a transfer in the middle, and how the long trip on the bus or light rail can
