In William Shakespeare’s tragedy Romeo and Juliet, we meet the characters and how their actions led to a tragedy. Romeo and Juliet met, end up falling in love, and – since both cannot dream of living without the other – take their lives. While the play ends in a tragic death for both characters, it was their own reckless decisions; though others might believe that it was destiny that played a large role in the lovers’ downfall. However, the majority of the text evidence points to them making their own choices leading to their demise.

The play Romeo and Juliet has been considered to be the most touching love story of all time, but when you look closer and past all the initial “fantasies”, you see the truth. Romeo and Juliet believed that they were in love because of the mere idea of it, however based on their actions and the short amount of time that the stages of their “love” progressed in, it soon became clear that what they were actually feeling was infatuation.

Love is a powerful force that bonds people together through anything and everything. Love will make people do anything for the ones they love and sometimes can’t see the bigger picture. In Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, two young lovers in “fair Verona” from rival families come together in love. They instantly fall in love as soon as they lay eyes on each other and have to marry each other after only knowing each other for twelve hours. Romeo and Juliet have no idea what is to come due to their actions. Young love often results in a selfish isolation from the rest of the world which causes impulsive decisions that bring unintended consequences.

His quick actions overcome his words and the situation mostly concludes with failure. It seems as though love has a powerful hold on people and they just can’t help what they do once they are in love. It is as if they are almost blind to everything else around them, and also blind to the consequences that might come from their choices that they make. Teenagers seem to be more at risk for such frivolous love due to the fact they have lived such ephemeral lives. Since teen brains are not fully developed it can lead to fickle or poor decision making, and sometimes leads to making choices that result in teen pregnancy. Poor decision

Many can take away life lessons and morals about how one should not allow their fatal flaws shine through to cause grief and destruction to those around them. One of the two main characters, Romeo, has the tragic flaw of impulsivity; and because of this, is predestined to cause woe in the hearts of those whom he loves the most. The author, William Shakespeare, uses syntax and diction to create a melancholic tone, which conveys that, while one may try, they cannot escape their tragic flaw that will ultimately cause their demise.

Mistakes can differ from missing a free throw at a basketball game to marrying someone you hardly know while intoxicated. Many things can add to panicked decisions. We’re always told to “think before you act” by an authority figure as children. Though most of the time, these words get brushed off, they’re still very important to remember. Without thinking, people have made, and will continue to make, very bad decisions. Thinking before you act is important because it can improve your quality of life, can prove you have a good character, and that you have control over what is going on.

Their decisions are very impulsive and rushed. As a result, it impacted them negatively in the future and as well as their relationship. Romeo and Juliet’s love for each other is not actually how love really is. They’ve mistakenly confused lust for love.
