The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was released in the November of 1998. Upon its release it was widely acclaimed from critics to players. It’s rare for a game for its age to still be in talks today decades later. On “Metacritic” it's in the top 3 highest rated games of all time. It's a game every 90’s kids remember and have played. No one expected for Ocarina of Time to split the Zelda timeline into 3 and leave the games into a whole new disaster. There are spoilers ahead for the Ocarina of Time, so be warned. Here is an explanation of the 3 Zelda timelines and where the games fit in them. The first timeline is known as the child era or the hero's descent era. In this era at the end of Ocarina of Time, Adult link, after defeating Ganon, …show more content…
During of Ocarina of Time when Zelda sent Adult Link back and created a time split. She also left that timeline without a Link for awhile. So when Ganon came back there was no “Hero of Time” to come stop him, so everyone seemed to be in a bad spot. Now Ganon's back and with no one to fight him the Gods needed to find a way to stop Ganon from destroying the land they tried so hard to keep safe. So the Gods decided to flood the land of Hyrule to keep it safe from Ganon. This is the backstory of the Wind Waker starting timeline. Many years past and a boy on one of the islands in the flooded Hyrule is given his “turning of age” tunic to reflect the Hero of Time that stopped Ganon and to give him the courage of time. The game starts with Link’s sister being taken by a giant bird, from there you go through the same Zelda stuff with the dungeons and stuff but 3/4s through the game you find out that the Link in Wind Waker is the Hero of the Winds. He had a piece of the Triforce of Courage but not the full set, so he travels to find the final pieces of the Triforce of Courage. Skip forward to the end of the game where Ganon, Zelda, and Link all meet and all 3 pieces of the triforces meet as well. The King of Hyrule who was your ship during the game touches the wish for Ganon and Hyrule to destroy and leave Hyrule under water. After you defeat Ganon, you leave the King and Ganon's body there …show more content…
In Ocarina we know that Link being sent back created “time splits” but Nintendo shocked people with a third timeline. A timeline where Link failed and died trying to defeat Ganon. This timeline is know as the “Fallen Hero Timeline.” The games in this timeline are the games from the SNES and NES so they all have the same plot, being that Link must stop Ganon again to save the world. This timeline is the most questionable because it’s hard to see Link fail and lead a depressing timeline. I feel it's a good place to put up the old Zelda games and make sure they have a place instead of altering them. That's the end of that time line now so let's wrap this
The first is the foraging era, the second in the agrarian era, and the third is the modern era. According to David Christian,"The past is seamless, fluid, and continuous. There are few natural breaks, so any attempt to divide the past into neat chronological chunks must be artificial. Periodization always does violence to the complexity of the past, and even the most conscientious attempts at dividing up the past involve some distortion." (p.__). Even though Christians scheme of periodization isn't perfect, it is the most efficient way of periodization, as "It will sacrifice important details to sketch out the larger patterns." (p.__). One of the things that Christian did to keep the story fluid and continuous was describing the transition period between areas. The foraging era was the longest of the three eras. It started with the first appearance of humans in 250,000 years ago in East Africa . They hunted for food and gathered all of their supplies. Their lifestyle left little room for innovation. As human populations increased, foragers were forced to either finder more efficient ways of getting food out of a certain area or they had to migrate. "Overpopulation would have posed a clear choice: migrate or intensify."(p.29). This was the birth of the agrarian era. Agrarian societies were able to support more people, so villages began to form. As the societies got bigger and more powerful, they
HOOK/INTRODUCTION SENTENCE. Big Era 3 lasted from 10,000 to 1,000 BCE and can be defined by the beginnings of farming and complex societies. Big Era 4 lasted from 1200 BCE to 500 CE and in this period empires rose and networks of exchange and human interaction expanded.
Then plot really caught my attention due to the its unique lines. For example, the music is timeless because it incorporates songs that are relatable to the specific time and topic. In the scene where Victor is first introduced the audience to the underworld the skeletons uses timeless music. The
I learned from making my time line some dates for things that happened and how certain things got started. For example, the Secret Service, I had no idea that the Secret Service got started after President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. I also did not know when police officers first got paid, or when the first law enforcement officer got killed. I also did not know that 1930 was the single deadliest year in law enforcement history. I determined which events to add in my time line by either how they were connected to today or if it was an important fact such as when the first police officer was killed in the line of duty. I did
For this assignment , I viewed the timelines of the following students Monsenya Chatman, Miranda Stanton, Alexis Jackson and my own timeline. The similarities between the time lines are: they were colorful, individuals and events that had the biggest impact on early childhood programs were included and pictures of the individuals or events were included, all timelines included information about the individuals John Cornelius and Friedrich Froebel. The differences between the timelines are: Monsenya included John Dewey, Miranda included Montessori, Alexis included information on the founding of NAEYC and Child Care Development Grant and I included information about Jean Jacques Rousseau and Johann Pestalozzi. John Cornelius, Friedrich Froebel,
History is taught to students for multiple reasons. It is not just to make students remember dates so they can get a credit towards their graduation plan. History is taught to students to prevent history from repeating itself and to also teach students how to learn from the mistakes from others. There are many interesting time periods to live in, such as the 1980’s where their hair was bigger than the state of Texas or the 1960’s, when the mashed potato left the dinner table and became a dance. However, if I was given an opportunity to live in a different time period, I would choose to live in the 1920’s because it was a very creative time period for America.
The cycle starts at “Status Quo”. This is where our hero is first introduced in its ordinary life. Then the “adventure calls”. Our hero starts his journey toward an unnatural world. However before our hero passes the
Seventeen years old: the faded 8x8 green board sits in its usual place, with Mom as my rival. We engage in our millionth game of Othello. A high school senior still playing board games with her mom; everyone has a guilty pleasure, right? Each with thirty-two double-sided disks, I’m always black and she’s always white, indicating that I go first.
Ever since I was young history has always been a huge part of my life. Some of my favorite films being about WWII. Inglorious Bastards and Saving Private Ryan to name a couple. No period though has had the biggest impact on me personally than the Renaissance: a time of cultural and political revolution following the fall of the Roman empire. New arts, sciences, architecture, and writings paving the way towards our modern social climate. Creativity and expression had a much higher place in thought compared to the age of Antiquity. Individuals have leisure time to enjoy themselves; lives not solely based upon survival. This time is where I would go with my magic golden ticket. I would travel back to the middle ages.
Although the drama is developed in sequence, each time period is equipped with the central events, so each time period is relatively independent. 3 Conflict of

Gender Issues in Othello Gender issues have impacted many aspects of life, one such aspect being literature. William Shakespeare and his literature were no exception to this as they were subjected and influenced by these gender issues. One of his more infamous works of literature that display these gender issues is the Shakespearean play Othello. Throughout the play, gender issues that occurred during the time of Shakespeare are portrayed, more notably how Shakespeare viewed women, how men viewed women, and how gender influenced the story and the choices that were available in for women during that time.

History is represented in two different ways in One Hundred Years of Solitude: the way in which the characters experience it, and the method in which it actually develops. The characters are caught between the pressures of past and present, and from their perspective everything is repeating itself cyclically. "[They] see the past in general as part of the circular pattern of recurring events and in particular, as filled with negative personal experiences which they do everything possible to repress." <6> This presentation of time and history as repetitious is obvious to the reader, but she would be deceived to believe it is the way in which history really is progressing. Still, the cyclic structure of the novel is an important part of its historical analysis.
Final fantasy was released in 1987 by the company square (which would later merge with a company called Enix and become the company that is well known now Square Enix). However it didn’t hit the US markets until 1990. It came out on the Nintendo entertainment system (NES for short). I chose this game because this game franchise is the reason I and expect many people love RPG’s. Also this game is also regarded as the most successful and influential RPG to be played on the NES. This game is the reason why the company square didn’t go bankrupt due it overwhelming popularity. It was called final fantasy as the company thought it was going to be the last game they made little did they know it was the reason the company didn’t go under (Thomas, n.d.). It also increased the sales of the NES because if you loved RPG games which a lot of people do the only place you could play it was the NES. This game is just the first of long line of successful games (Final Fantasy series). It also helped cement making the RPG genre more popular. The game is a turn based role playing game. Where when you are battling against enemies you have to take turns in fighting not both fighting at the same time. At the time the graphics of the game were met with overwhelming praise as well as the soundtrack that accompanied the game. In the game you play as four light warriors that are prophesized to appear
