Aim:
Materials:
• Agar plate
Sterile cotton swabs
• Flame, Matches. Ethanol .Tape Marker
Method
1. Clean work station using ethanol
2. Divide your agar plate into 4 equal parts and label them, mouth, hand, feet, hair
3. Using ONE INDIVIDUAL and separate sterile cotton swabs, swab the inside of the mouth and make streaks in the respective section.
4. Repeat these steps for hand, feet and hair
5. Tape plate shut and place in incubator.
6. After three days, record the number of colonies and the diversity of colonies among the 4 parts
8. Create 2 bar graphs, one for abundance and the other for richness.
