Expert Solution
Step 1

Given:

Total units produced by a firm= 200

Cost function C(x)= (400+1500x)$

Revenue Function R(x)= (1700x-x2)$

To determine:

No of units produced to maximize the profit=?

Solution:

First of all we need to find the Profit function .

Hence,

                   Profit function P(x)= R(x) - C(x)

Step 2

Therefore,

                 Profit Function P(x)=

                              1700x-x2-400+1500x=1700x-x2-400-1500x=200x-x2-400

Hence,

              Profit Function:

                             P(x)=-x2+200x-400
