a separate excited dc generator turning at 1400r/min produces an induced voltage of 120v.  The armatureresistnce is 2 ohms and machine delivers a current of 12A.  what is the terminal voltage?  the heat dissipated by the armature? the braking torque exerted by the armature?

Expert Answer

Step 1

DC generator speed, N = 1400 rpm

Induced voltage, Ea = 120 V

Armature resistance, Ra = 2 Ω

Armature current, Ia = 12 A

Step 2

Write the expression for the terminal voltage and calculate it.

Step 3

Substitute the known parameters,
