- Bacteriophage A average = 136 plaques Bacteriophage B average = 38 plaques Bacteriophage C average = 27 plaques Please help find the PFU/ml and answer the question on the best bacteriophage. ThanksPrepare a dilution of phage from 1.5 x 1010 PFU/mL to 1.00 x 102 PFU/mL. Draw a dilution scheme to achieve this serial dilution considering the following: The volumes of each dilution should be 1.0mL. It is not advisable to perform any dilutions > 1/100. The first dilution in any titre determination of stock phage should use 10µl or less of stock. There have been recurring cases of mad-cow disease in the United Kingdom since the mid-1990s. Mad-cow disease is caused by a prion, an infectious particle that consists only of protein. In 1986, the media began reporting that cows all over England were dying from a mysterious disease. Initially, there was little interest in determining whether humans could be affected. For 10 years, the British government maintained that this unusual disease could not be transmitted to humans. However, in March 1996, the government did an about-face and announced that bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), commonly known as mad-cow disease, can be transmitted to humans, where it is known as variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (VCJD). As in cows, this disease eats away at the nervous system, destroying the brain and essentially turning it into a spongelike structure filled with holes. Victims experience dementia; confusion; loss of speech, sight, and hearing; convulsions; coma; and finally death. Prion diseases are always fatal, and there is no treatment. Precautionary measures taken in Britain to prevent this disease in humans may have begun too late. Many of the victims contracted it over a decade earlier, when the BSE epidemic began, and the incubation period is long (VCJD has an incubation period of 10 to 40 years). A recent study concluded that 1 in 2,000 people in Great Britain carry the abnormally folded protein that causes VCJD. In spite of these numbers, the death rate from VCJD remains low. It is not clear whether this means that the incubation period for the disease is much longer than previously thought, or whether they may never develop the disease. How can a prion replicate itself without genetic material?
- Given that the multiplicity of infection of bacteriophage lambda to E' coti is greater than i.0, discuss in detail the most likely growth path that wiil be taken by bacteriophage lambda, and briefly explain your rationale. One mL of a bacteriophage suspension is mixed with 20 mL of a bacterialculture and 50% of the phages adsorb. We know that the bacteriophagesuspension had a concentration of 1x10^10 viruses per mL, and the bacterialculture had a concentration of 3x10^8 bacteria per mL. How many viruses are adsorbed per cell (multiplicity of infection)? One mL of a bacteriophage suspension is mixed with 20 mL of a bacterialculture and 50% of the phages adsorb. We know that the bacteriophagesuspension had a concentration of 1x10^10 viruses per mL, and the bacterialculture had a concentration of 3x10^8 bacteria per mL. What fraction of the cells is single infected?

We know that the bacteriophagesuspension had a concentration of 1x10^10 viruses per mL, and the bacterialculture had a concentration of 3x10^8 bacteria per mL. What fraction of the cells is uninfected?A plaque assay is performed beginning with 1 mL of a solution containing bacteriophages. This solution is serially diluted three times by combining 0.1 mL of each sequential dilution with 9.9 mL of liquid medium. Then 0.1 mL of the final dilution is plated in the plaque assay and yields 17 plaques. What is the initial density of bacteriophages in the original 1 mL?please tell me how bacteriophage and animal viruses multiply. please add both lytic and lysogenic cycles for bacteriophage, all steps, and the outcomes of both. For animal viruses, please include all steps and briefly explain the differences between their nucleic acids. i am having a hard trouble understanding this information if you could please explain in way where a child would understand it that would be amazing thank you
