Introduction:

Enantiomers are chiral compounds that are non-super impossible mirror images. Optical activity is the property of chiral compounds. Enantiomers rotate the plane polarized light in equal amounts but in opposite direction. If one enantiomer rotates the plane polarized towards right (dextrorotatory) and other enantiomer rotates towards the left (levorotatory). (R) and (S) describe the absolute configuration of the compound.
