Given number of governors from Democratic party = 20

number of governors from Republic party = 30

The probability that first picked governor is Republican = total number of republican governors/total governors

=30/50 = 0.6

The total number of governors after first pick = 49

The probability that second picked governor is Democrat = total number of democrat governors/total governors

=20/49 = 0.408

The probability that first picked governor is Republican and second is Democrat = 0.60*0.408 = 0.245 (rounded to three decimals).

Step 2

Probability that first selected governor is republican = 30/50 = 0.6

Probability that second selected governor is republican = 29/49 = 0...
