A reduced form of NADP+ is NADPH. It is utilised in assimilation processes that demand for NADPH as a reducing agent, such as the production of lipids and nucleic acids. It functions as a fundamental metabolite and cofactor. NADPH is very good reducing agent, because the H atom can be easily given out. This H atom will combine with other molecules and hence reduces other compounds like FAD etc. 

Removal of hydrogen molecule from any subastance is called oxidation while addition of the hydrogen to a subastance is called reduction reaction.
