Question

Membrane versus mechanical keyboards what are a few of their chief characteristics?

Expert Solution
Step 1

Membrane keyboard – These are the most commonly used keyboards with laptops and the cost of these keyboards is also low.

These keyboards have silicon dome which is sandwiched between the main circuit and the leys. That is why the name membrane arises. When a key is pressed the silicon membrane comes in contact with the circuit and specified key can does work. These boards make less noise. Typing with these type of keyboards is not so good. These keyboards are well suited for places where light weight and simpler design is required. Membrane keyboards are mostly used in laptops.
