Molecular Weight- It is also known as molecular mass. It is defined as the average mass of a molecule of a compound compared to the 1/12th of the carbon atom and calculated as the sum of the atomic weights of the constituent atoms.

For example- The molecular formula of Water is H2

The atomic weight of Hydrogen(H)= 1.01

The atomic weight of Oxygen= 16

Water is made up of two atoms of Hydrogen and One atom of oxygen so its molecular weight is 18.02

Solution

The atomic weight of Copper(Cu)= 63.55

The atomic weight of Sulphur(S) = 32.07

The atomic weight of Oxygen(O)= 16

The atomic weight of Hydrogen(H)= 1.01

The molecular weight of CuSO4.5H2O

= 63.55+ 32.07+ 4*16+ 5( 1.01*2 + 16 )

=159.62 + 5(18.02)

=249.72 g/mole
