Medical Practice Management System
The receptionists use the system to enter new patient information when first-time patients visit a
doctor. They also schedule all appointments (patients cannot schedule their own appointment) and
enter information about the different doctors working at the practice.
The nurses use the system to enter the details of each visit. For each visit, they must capture
information on the diagnosis. Medications may be prescribed during each visit. A patient can also
phone in and ask for a prescription which is then enter onto the system by the doctor. The doctors
may enter some patient visit information (diagnosis) and prescriptions occasionally, but most
frequently they let the nurses enter this information.
The doctors primarily use the system to view patient history. The nurses can also view the Visit
information to print out a history of patient visits.
