Hemophilia is a rare genetic disorder in which the blood doesn't clot due to the mutation on the X chromosome that carries the gene for clotting factor 8 or 9 disrupting its expression. Haemophilia is an X linked inheritance which means that the defective gene is located on the X chromosome and is passed from one generation to another.  The mothers or females are always carriers, that is they do not show symptoms of haemophilia whereas males are haemophilic in spite of carrying a single X chromosome.
