Expert Solution
Step 1

The number of years a person is predicted to live according to statistical data is known as the life expectancy of that individual. Geographical area and era determine the life expectancy of a person. Owing to the advancement in medicine, the life expectancy during the bronze age was 26 years while it has increased to 67 years in 2010. The maximum life expectancy of humans was documented as 122 years which was the age of Jeanne Calment of France when she died. This is also referred to as the 'maximum life span'. Life expectancy is used in pricing life insurance, pension planning, and social security benefits. In underdeveloped countries, life expectancy at birth is very low when compared to developed countries due to high infant mortality levels. Life expectancy is calculated as life expectancy at birth which is the average length of time a newborn is expected to live. The life expectancy of females is more when compared to the males in many countries. Men are more likely to die from unintentional injuries like war, accidents or by intentional injuries like suicides. 'Healthy life expectancy' is defined as the average number of years a person is expected to live healthily. This is used to monitor the health of a population in many countries.
