Tissue comprises of structurally and functionally similar cells. It is a level of organization in multicellular animals. Group of tissues forms an organ which performs specific function. Later on, these organs form organ system and many such organ system forms an organism.

Four major types of tissues in human body are – muscle, nervous, epithelial and connective.

Connective tissues are broadly classified as – Connective proper , skeletal/supporting connective tissues and fluid/vascular connective tissue. All these are sub divided into various categories.

Connective proper is subdivided into – loose and dense. Loose connective tissues are divided as - areolar, adipose and reticular. While dense connective tissues are categorised into - dense regular, dense irregular, elastic

Skeletal connective tissues are divided as – cartilage and bones.

Fluid connective tissue is blood (sometime lymph also considered under this category)

Step 2: Explanation

Bones are rigid structures that forms the skeleton of an organism. Osteocytes are bone cells which are present within lacunae. Both spongy and compact bones have osteocytes, only their arrangement differs.

Bones are further classified as – long, short, flat and irregular.
