These compounds contain fatty acids and their derivatives. Lipids include waxes, natural oils, and steroids. Lipids provide cushioning and insulation of internal organs. It takes part in the process of messaging in the body like hormones.

Monomer units: Glycerol and fatty acids.

  1. Proteins:

These are a group of nitrogenous organic compounds. Proteins are large molecules that are formed of one or more long chains of amino acids.

These are an important part of all living organisms. These help in the formation of structural components of body tissues, antibodies, and enzymes.
