In research there is a problem of investigating the effect of a each of the number of variables,factors on some Y.In earlier days the factors were studied at a time, and with separate experiments to each factor.Later scientist pointed out that important advantages are gained by combining the several factors in the same factorial experiment.
In the factorial experiment, compare all treatments that can be formed by the combining the levels of different factors. factorial experiment is highly efficient,because every observation gives information about all the factors included in the experiment and it is a systematic method of investigating the relationships between the different factors effect.
Here the individual treatments are called factors.The treatment levels within a factor are called levels.
