what else can i add on to this:  Minimum wage has always been a hot topic. Lately, we have seen such a rise in how much companies are willing to pay employees, due to the inflation of things and lack of workers. In Missouri, the minimum wage is $11.15/hour. On the other hand, the federal government's minimum wage is $7.25/hour- a pretty big difference between the two. In a situation where an employee is subject to both the state and federal minimum wage laws, the employee is given the higher of the two minimum wages. The question though regarding if the federal government should raise the minimum wage or not brings about several subjective viewpoints on the matter. The positives of raising the minimum wage includes growing the economy and stimulating customer spending. However, to maintain capital and profits, the minimum wage cannot be too high. If the minimum wage is raised, this could create even more inflation and loss of jobs. Small businesses will sink because they do not have the revenue to be able to hire new employees with the high minimum wage.
