Question

What is a down syndrome?

Expert Solution
Step 1: Introduction

Humans are diploid organisms,i.e., humans will have two copies for each chromosome in the cells. One copy of the gene from the father and one copy from the mother. Genetic abnormalities or genetic diseases are caused by an inherited condition. It is difficult to treat because it is present in all respective cells of the body. Downs syndrome, thalassemia, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia, and tay-sachs disease are some examples of genetic diseases.
