What property of sodium chloride is used to separate it from the sand? Group of answer choices solubility melting poing oxidation in air chemical reaction with the sand
What property of sodium chloride is used to separate it from the sand?
Solubility :Based On solubility ,sodium chloride is separated . Sodium chloride is soluble in water but sand is not soluble .
Melting Point : Melting of Salt is not easy due to presence of high electrostatic force or ionic force. it requires very high temperature .For NaCl melting point =801℃ and sand does not melt at normal Condition.Hence on Basis of m.p separation does not take place in normal condition.
Oxidation : On oxidation of sodium chloride Changes .That means sodium chloride lost its identity .Hence separation does not take place
Chemical reaction with the Sand: sodium chloride does not react with sand in solution .But in a mixture ,separation does not take place by this property.
