Why study astronomy

Astronomy is a very old science. It is the science dealing with the characteristics of celestial objects, its changes from birth to death, laws regarding their motion etc. It is strictly interconnected with physics and mathematics.

There are many reasons to study and research on astronomy. The prime reason is that it helps to understand universe in much better way. At present, humans have only very less knowledge about phenomenon like dark matter, black holes, quasars and pulsars, Cosmic Microwave background radiation etc. To understand more about these, astronomy should be well studied.
