Refer to Figure 28-4 in the textbook.

In the circuit operation of the Figure 28-4, TR1 timed contact closes with a time delay after pressing the start button, shorted TR1 timed contact will not cause to the given condition. Therefore, option (a) is incorrect.

When TR1 contact is close S2 auxiliary contact is closed, and the motor will not start completely and is followed by TR2 timer operation. Therefore, option (b) is incorrect.

The contact S1 is the circuit holding contact after pressing the start button, and after the time delay of operation of TR1 and TR2 (each timer with 2 seconds time delay), the S1 contactor gets open when normally closed contact R opens...
