Further, at the column end of a steering, the teeth of a small pinion get meshed with the gear teeth of rack.

The parallelogram steering operates in a way which helps in good steering and suspension. This arrangement has some components also which are pitman arm, idler arm, links, and tie-rods. It is present on both behind and ahead the front wheel suspension.

The worm and roller system is like parallelogram steering except one thing that, in this system, the re-circulating ball has one roller which replaces the balls and ball nut. This system is better for small cars. This system operates in a way which helps in steering the vehicle by using the movement of pitman arm in left or right direction which is caused by the shaft. This shaft comes in movement and turns due to the rotation of worm gear which is done by the steering shaft.
