The outcome of my project was 106 soccer balls. Although, the grandiose outcome for me is giving these balls to people who could receive joy and benefit from them. To develop to the point of reaching an outcome, I needed to execute the plan that I created. I constructed an informational flyer and handed it out to as many people as I could. This impacted the social skills I used during my project, because this was one of the vital parts. With the flyer in hand, I had to actually "talk" to people! This forced me to communicate personally with my community and helped me further develop personal social skills. Once I got the word out, I had a collection day/drive. I had one vast contributor who gave me soccer balls, which helped me a lot. Before
The physics involved in soccer includes friction, torque, center of gravity, Magnus Effect and Newton’s three laws of motion. The physics of soccer comes from three main parts of physics which is velocity, acceleration, and displacement. Velocity is shown in soccer with the speed and direction of the soccer ball when it is hit or kicked. Acceleration is shown in soccer when the ball changes velocity when it is hit or kicked. Displacement is the change in position of the soccer ball.
The project was an embodiment of my service to the community that served me years before and made me into the person I am today. Service is something that everyone should feel
While it was such an easy project, it was a small way to make a big difference in someone’s life. The Catholic Connections project overall, let Ruth and I create a connection that we did not have, when she still lived in Utah. We were able to speak to each other, after not seeing each other for years, and it motivated me to speak to their whole family even more. I got to learn about the mother of one of my best friends, and see what a wonderful person Ruth is. Even if we had troubles during the project, with loosing the data with all the answers, or the lack of time we had to complete, this project let Ruth and I become closer than ever
One example would be the free printing the office of diversity offers. I learned more about upcoming events and leadership positions available to students. This event has impacted me by educating me and also by giving me the opportunity to join an organization I wanted to be a part of. I went with a group of girls to the resource fair and I was able to hear what they thought of the experience. The girls liked being able to join groups and they really enjoyed the free items. I think that other people who attended the event were pleased with the fun games and prizes. The most enjoyable part of the event for me was the free prizes. To improve the event, I would suggest that the event be publicized better. I heard of the event the day it took place. The goals I have set for this school year included involving myself in campus activities and clubs. At the resource fair, I was able to join a group that fit my personality. This action helped me reach a goal of becoming involved in an organization that would help encourage my Christian faith. The experience I had is very important to being successful in college. In order to be successful you have to strive to learn and grow as an individual. Utilizing the tools that are offered can aid students in receiving good grades. Many successful college students are educated about the resources their institution offers for its
Although a soccer ball may look like a sphere is not a real sphere. When you look closely at the actual ball you will see that it is polyhedron made of different shapes. A polyhedron is a three dimensional object composed of flat polygon sides typically connected at the edges (Wolfram 1999). The most common shape of modern soccer balls is called a truncated icosahedron. Icosahedron is a shape made up of 20 triangles. To create a more round object the icosahedron is truncated. Here, truncated applies to cutting off the edges which makes the icosahedron look more round ("Icosahedron," 2014). The truncated icosahedron has 32 total faces including 12 regular pentagons and 20 regular hexagons with 90 edges and 60 vertices ("Truncated
I have learned a lot from the service learning project, I think that I can be used in my classes in the future. I have learned a lot about looking at individual’s strengths and adapting the process to fit their needs instead of hoping that the individual will change. I think that I could still improve upon this for the future, because it can be such a complicated task to do. From watching how upfront Melissa was about her expectations for the project, I learned how I need to be in future group projects if I were going to be the leader. To become a high performing team, I need to say my own expectations from the start.
The collaboration I did with my fellow peers really helped me engage with them and helped me get to know them a little better. The interview summary helped me understand the importance of writing and how it becomes beneficial to everyone no matter the career they have. I learned that despite the profession you have, writing is always going to be a necessity. The interview summary helped me process information and helped me think more critically when asking questions to the person I was interviewing. I really enjoyed this small project because it helped me use my communication skills and develop more knowledge about writing. The TEDTalk presentation project was very intriguing and boosted up my self-esteem when presenting in front of the class.
My senior project was the importance of children reading. I read with the first graders and asked them and their parents to read books and fill out a log book. I wanted to see if they read every night and how much they read. During my project I learned some children have a hard time keeping track of their log books. The children would not say anything unless I asked for them. I discovered that some parents were not able to fill out the log books or read with their children. I came to an understanding that reading is very important for children.Giving a reward encoraged them to read more. Reading will help improve reading skills and fluency, along with many life skills.
In order to reach larger goals such as creating a more socially conscious society, discovering the line between truth and fiction Or simply just improving Humanity in general.wanting to accomplish these goals one idea taking into account is it will require a massive team effort. during my time attending high school, I participated in a variety of Team oriented projects. My favorite project, but also the most memorable by far would have to be the Macbeth group discussions that took place in 12th grade English class taught by Mrs. Netzer; this was my most favorite project Due to how we studied Macbeth .It benefited us that we got to choose our Own groups .
Personal Project is a project that each 10th grade students must design and exhibit at the end of the process. Students all have chosen different types of project that’s significant in their different areas of interaction. The project I have chosen to do is creating special effects that often appear in movies. My area of interaction is Human Ingenuity. Special effects were created by human and it’s used a lot in the current world. I choose to focus on the process of learning the actual process of making the special effect so I would be able to create my own at the end of the process. I could’ve also be focused on the area of Communication. For example running a EA or a workshop teaching others how to create their special effect. But I
Every year since I was I child, I have attended camp and was presented a new challenge to accomplish there. One year for example, the challenge was to build a boat that wouldn't leak . The only materials we were given were plastic sheets, duck tape, cardboard, and spray paint. My cabin and I struggled at first as to how to build the boat. So my friend and I started thinking of a plan that everyone would agree too. We would first tape over the gaps on the card board then for extra protection we put three layers of the plastic inside and out and sealed it down with the duck tape. Things were going well until we tested the boat in which it leaked and started sinking. My cabin started arguing about whose fault it was for it not floating. After I broke up the argument, I suggested we add more layers of plastic and more duct tape. After the repairs we made to the boat, it was a success and ready to take to the lake for the competition. We ended up winning the competition which brought great satisfaction to me knowing how hard I and the rest of my team had worked .
I applied my experience to high school and initiated a club called HOPE, which stands for Helping Out People Everyday. I provided young minds the opportunity to voluntarily help people in need, with the intention to ingrain the sense that helping others should be second nature. I spent Saturday nights with my club preparing food and distributing them to individuals residing at the Urban Angel's homeless shelter in San Diego,
The team builder activity that we did in class was very interesting to do because every person in the group had restrictions and limitations on what they could contribute in the group which made me a bit challenging especially because time was against our favor. This activity made me realize that every person can make a difference based on what capabilities they have and this
My project was only successful because of the contributions made by members of my team. However, being a leader of this team was challenging. I had intentionally made a team with a diverse group of people who could offer insightful perspectives. However, I did not anticipate how difficult it would be to loosen my grip on the creative control of the project. Before beginning the construction of the kits, I had a clear vision for the majority of the kits. Even though it was challenging for me to accept, this project taught me that being a leader is more than telling people what to do; it is about bringing people and ideas together while maintaining structure and organization. At the end of the day, I could not be happier with how the kits turned out since so many people on my team had such fantastic ideas. Additionally, after I learned to trust the capabilities of the people I was working with, I was able to be a better leader because I was in a position to make the entire project more efficient by talking to my peers rather than at them.
People are motivated to work towards achieving a need that they feel they have. The more acutely they feel the need the more willing they are to work towards meeting that need. It is for this reason that communities should be exposed to experiences that could in a reasonable time earn the community a higher value than it currently has. A project manager’s ability to effectively appeal to one of these motivational drivers is a key determinant to the potential success of a project.
