A long time ago, in China, there was a race, which involved twelve animals. These animals were the rooster, monkey, sheep, horse, snake, dragon, rabbit, tiger, cow, rat, pig, and the dog. The emperor of China had this race to give these animals an opportunity to represent a year in the lunar calendar. When the race started, all the animals lined up. Here, the cow would help the cat and rat to cross the river. When they came near the finish line, the rat pushed the cat into the river and jumped off the cow to win the race. It got the first year. After the rat, the cow crossed the finish line and became the second animal to finish, so it got the second year. After the cow, the tiger came by swimming across the lake and was awarded the third
The Great White Manager and the Sacred Earth by Cardinal is a personal account of the injustices facing the First Nations due to the overwhelming control of the dominant, immigrant culture. Cardinal’s words clearly express his anger at the mistreatment of his community, but when this text is compared to the Indian Act it provides a whole new understanding. The law does not properly protect these people; it takes away their responsibilities, their rights, all while trying to fit them into a system that does not match their culture. This act was drawn up by someone who has very little understanding of the Aboriginal beliefs and serves as an illustration to a lot of Cardinal’s points.
Owning an exotic pet can go wrong in a lot of ways and it can seriously harm the animal you are keeping, other animals, and people; including the animal's owner. If someone would want to try to keep one of these animals they would have to put a lot of work, time, and money into it because you have to keep the animal healthy, happy, safe, and you also have to make sure you are keeping everyone else safe including yourself. Still, you could be putting yourself, the animal, and others in danger.
China is the world’s most populated country with the population of 1.3 billion people. Since there were so many people in China they had to think about a way to control population so this is where the one-child policy was made. It officially restricts married, urban couples to having only one child, while allowing exemptions for several cases, including twins. This policy was introduced in 1978 and initially applied to first-born children from 1979. The policy is enforced at the local level through fines that are imposed based on the income of the family and other factors.

With many people and political scientists split on the issue. Did you know that in 2018, The Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus will be retiring their elephant act (Mendoza). The topic I will be discussing with you guys today is animals in captivity, or otherwise known as zoos and aquatic centers. We need to care about this topic because people and protestors are taking it out of hand. Some animals need zoos to care for them. I personally care for this topic because zoos are a fun thing to do with your family or friends. As long as they?re not hurting something they shouldn?t be, I don?t see why it is a bad thing. Today I will be arguing with Haylee on why animals in captivity isn?t a bad thing.
This is because the Chinese use this twelve-animal calendar which is based on an ancient Chinese Calendar.
