This paper will show four different police departments that are currently hiring or recruiting for police officers. First, there is lack of information and knowledge on the right police training philosophy, learning approach and training program objectives (CALEA, 2010). This lack of knowledge has immense negative effects on police training, especially because it affects not only senior commanders of police departments but also management, police trainers and other staffs. The other ingredient to police training that lacks is community understanding and support for police training programs (Mitrani, 2014). It is found out that the communities that are served by officers do little to support or appreciate post-academy training programs, which have numerous benefits to communities (CALEA, 2010). For instance, post-academy and field training for newly posted officers helps in the utilization of individual and department creativity, stakeholder collaboration, and effective problem-solving skills and techniques that would improve communal safety and
An examination of the patrol officer’s jobs and duties took place. The gathering of information and interviewing a seasoned patrol offer assisted in this examination. The city in which the patrol officer works is also studied. Research of the city of Hueytown’s population and history helped to understand the demographics and crime within the city. While Hueytown’s violent crimes are low, thefts and burglaries rank the highest. Communities, including the city of Hueytown, place patrol officers on the streets in order to protect and serve. Officer Louis Phillips, Jr. gave an interview that takes an in depth look at his journey as a patrol officer.

In actuality, veterans continue to face barriers on their process for resocialization. Despite the effort that society puts in to ease such transition veterans find difficulty adapting to modern society due to a warfare identity. The military trains its veterans with the purpose to make them stronger in personality as well as to teach them how to control their emotions. Veterans are force to assimilate the military culture by detaching from their very own self-identity prior to the military. The identity that has been created by the military is also responsible for the negative stigma that our veterans’ currently suffer in today’s society. They are often portray as, murderous and violent. These traits are not strictly related to combat, but
Placing a fresh sheet of paper in the typewriter, Tom cleared his throat. With a long, drawn out yawn, he laced his fingers together and stretched out his arms. His joints cracked, and once satisfied he was limber, he waggled his fingers theatrically over the keys before proceeding to type. As far as the young officer was concerned, there was only one downside to policing; the mountains of paperwork that needed filling in on a daily basis. Offense Reports, Incident Reports, Arrest Reports, Accident Reports, each case required daily documentation, the demand for accurate reporting adding hours to each officer's day. It was a necessary but unfortunate part of the job, but Tom undertook the chore in the same way he tackled the

Much of the text highlighted the need for correct, reliable, complete, and understandable language required from law enforcement. In the wake of the wars, our military’s men and women have experienced things that most people cannot dare to dream of. Although some of them are able to transition into the civilian life, many are left with scars that are mentally and physically traumatic. Rick Yount established Warrior Canine Connection in order to help veterans and their families find a service dog to successfully guide and aid veterans to become stronger and to function better. Service dogs have been around for many years helping veterans get back on their feet and helping them with their disabilities. Post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury affect hundreds of veterans each day. Those who suffer from amputated limbs must rely on others and mechanical devices to function.

Writing and research play a critical role in my future career as a case manager specialist with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. As a case manager, I will be required to prepare and maintain the offenders’ case files, as well as, write progress reports. Accuracy in content, spelling, and grammar in the reports that I write is very important because they can be used in court, probation and parole hearings, and other legal proceedings. As a case manager, I will be required to develop a rehabilitation plan that will benefit the offender and assist him or her as they work towards transitioning back into society. Generally, the case manager specialist will conduct research in regards to the inmates’ behavior. I think the formatting requirements
After three in a half years of serving in the United States’ Army, I had decided to leave the service. I returned home to St. Petersburg, Florida where I enrolled in St. Petersburg College. After, obtaining my Associates’ degree from SPC, I transferred to the University of South Florida where I studied for my bachelor’s degree in criminology. After one semester at USF, I had decided that I needed to get some experience under my belt, because I knew that a four year degree would not necessarily guarantee me a respectable career. Originally, I wanted to join the St. Petersburg Police Department. They seemed to have a much diversified agency, and I felt comfortable with the area because I was born and raised in St. Petersburg. There I was putting on my tie, brushing my hair and shining my shoes, I was preparing to meet with the St. Petersburg’s Assistant Police Chief in the morning.
No matter ones view on the police it is safe to say they are not only extremely hated and stereotyped but they also have one of the most dangerous professions. It is my goal to be the defense for the police and to bring to light the dangers that they deal with on a daily basis while promising to protect and serve our communities, how threats police face influence the split second decisions they make in day to day situations, and how critiquing criminal justice management on police departments requirements may help set an even standard of what is expected of police officers across all county, city, and state police. I believe that this will help weed out a big majority of the corrupt officers that make the majority of them seem untrustworthy to the society
