Nuclear chemistry is a career with multiple options in medical and electrical fields that focuses on creating solutions to current world-issues. In regard to education, a nuclear chemist lab technician typically has a bachelor’s in chemistry, physics, geology, etc., while a nuclear chemistry researchers require a doctoral degree in chemistry. A nuclear chemist’s main duties usually include; conducting research within a lab, developing techniques for monitoring, replicating, and dismantling nuclear weapons, producing mathematical models and digital simulations of nuclear events, advancing nuclear power sources and developing medical imaging, treatments and therapies, and instructing students in a university setting. After taking AP Chemistry, I knew that I wanted to study chemistry in college. I also have been a very inquisitive person my whole life, wondering why things are and how things worked. My inquisitive nature and love of chemistry is why chemical engineering appeals to me. I am drawn to Biomedical engineering due to its application of both chemistry and biology to solve medical problems. Doing a complete 360, I am interested in art history, because not only do I find art fascinating, but I also find it mesmerizing how artists visually represent and were inspired by the world around them.
There are many careers that you can become with a chemistry degree, such as a pharmacologist and learn how drugs are properly used for or even a toxicologist who research potential harm caused by chemical to help establish regulations to protect the public. Being a forensic scientist is to be believed as being a hero due to the fact that how much help you can do in cases. This job has a great salary but many it has many different work hours and is a cutthroat job. There are plenty of benefits and standards to becoming a forensic scientist.
I intend to be a chemistry major in college. In addition, I hope to make chemistry my career, ultimately obtaining a PhD and becoming a researcher in a laboratory. Both of these are motivated by my passion for chemistry, discovered in sophomore Honors Chemistry and cultivated in AP Chemistry and by studying for the Chemistry Olympiad. Some other careers I might consider, though with less fervor than chemistry for now, include intellectual property (patent lawyer) and chemical engineer.
First, is that you need to be able to get all the information of the research and compile it and determine the results of the tests and analyses. Second, is that you need to be able to set up and conduct these chemical experiments, tests and analyses using techniques like chromatography, microscopy , physical or chemical separation techniques, or spectroscopy. A third task is to develop or conduct programs of sampling and analysis to maintain the best quality standards of chemical intermediates, raw materials, or products. A task that a lot of Chemical Technicians do is keep the workplace safe and they do so by participating in safety programs, teams, or committees. Most Chemical Technicians work indoors, usually in laboratories, and have regular set amount of hours.

I decided to go with a career in astronomy. An astronomer is a scientist who tries to understand the wonders of the Universe as well the wonders beyond our universe. Astronomers also study the stars, planets, and other galaxies (“Careers in Astronomy | IAU”). I chose a career in astronomy because I have always been fascinated by space and how the universe works. It is extremely important to understand education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, the salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career when making the decision.

This career path caught my interests because I really enjoy watching the TV show criminal minds and my favorite part in the series is where they analyze the evidence of the crime scene so when I realized it was an option for the chemistry careers project it immediately caught my attention. I am highly interested in learning more about the collecting of evidence specifically on the human body and the procedure of analyzing the body fluids. Another thing that caught my interest in this field was learning more about the way their work fits into the investigation of a criminal case and the way they interact with the justice departments.
The career choice I chose to research was Aerospace Engineering. Aerospace Engineers design and test aircraft, missiles, spacecraft, and other things such as satellites, to make sure they function according to design. My top career choice is a neurologist. I have chosen this career because not only is it financially rewarding, I can help people live a better life like I always dreamed of doing as a kid. I want to be the person to be recognized for saving lives. I know that this job would be a lot of hard work, but I think all my time would be worth it saving lives. The brain has always fascinated me since I was little, I was always eager to learn more, and discover more things. I realize that this would be a challenge, but it is a challenge I am up for!
