These feelings could carry on throughout the years. When a child starts attending a day nursery, this can be a very stressful time for them. This may be the first time that they have been separated from their parents.

One of the largest social controversies of the current time are the parental pressures attached to whether or not a child should attend daycare. While many parents struggle with this decision, others do not have the luxury of choice; many questions are raised asking if it is beneficial or harmful for infants and young children to attend daycare, spending the majority of their waking hours with caregivers other than their parents. There are of course many opinions and studies regarding this issue. As with any controversial topic there is no right or wrong answers for the masses. The majority of studies conducted all seem to have similar results. This is an issue and dilemma of such personal magnitude that it should not only be regarded

Giving them everything they want, to please them because when they are happy I would be happy. But this teaches the child nothing. This makes children not share well with other kids (Wartik, N. (2015, August 05). From experience working in a daycare I witnessed and realized which kids were only children, which kids were adopted and which children were neglected very quickly. Parents need to find a balance between loving and playing with their children and not neglecting them. This balance would be hard to do every day but is possible. Telling your child no is hard but must be done. Telling your kid no every time they ask something is also not right. Many parents are scared to let their child, be a child. Letting your child fall is normal. Letting your child cry is good. Letting your kids make friends and not hang out with the parents and family all the time is normal. Even though it may be hard because this baby is your life, you have to let it grow and do things on his or her own (Wartik N. (2015, August 05).

Families' reliance on childcare has risen significantly over the past 30 years. In 1993, 9.9 million children under age 5, needed care while their mothers worked (Bureau of the Census, 1995). More than two-thirds of all infants receive nonparental child care during their first year of life, with most enrolled for about 30 hours each week (National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, 1995).

The issue of child neglect is one of the most current forms of child maltreatment especially in the United States. According to the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System, child neglect is referred to as a kind of maltreatment which relates to the failure of a caregiver to offer the needed, age-appropriate care, despite the fact that the parent may be financially stable to do so (Conte 13). Neglect in many instances is described by an ongoing pattern that relates to lack of care and is observed by individuals in close contact with a child.

The cost of college tuition is continually on the rise and has placed many burdens on high school students as well as their families. Some of the burdens that are placed are a result of parents putting pressure on their children to earn scholarships. Some of the burden is a result of students putting pressure on themselves to earn scholarships. Then, there is the burden of high college debt once the student graduates. Is this pressure really helping our students or is it hurting them? The bottom line is college tuition is skyrocketing out of control and something must be done before it destroys our families and our children.

As stated earlier, paid childcare also has disadvantages. A major disadvantage of non-parental childcare is the lack of individualized attention. Even though this may be relative to some daycare centers, individualized attention can be a challenge to children that require more attention. The lack of attention can develop mistrust as secure attachment is crucial in infancy and toddlerhood. Moreover, healthy attachment can affect the brain and its development (Hutchison, 2015). Caregivers can not be trusted because (maltreatment) abuse and torture helpless children. Many parents might not know how their kids are being treated by strangers. For instance, my sister who was a new single parent at the time realizes her son's sudden mood swings whenever she dropped him off; he would start to cry and scream. One day she decided to take a day off from work to see what the problem is pretending to be at work; she walked on feet toward the daycare, and that's when she saw her child being physically abused. Our nation is full of cruel and heartless people that harm young vulnerable children for no apparent reasons. According to a study "Approximately 48% of the children in the sample died as a result of neglect, and 52% died as a result of abuse" (Berson & Yampolskaya 175). This illustrates that children are not safe and well protected in daycares because if professional providers are not patient or fully appreciative of children's first interactions then, it's the parent's responsibility to look after their kids. While working in daycare for many years and listening to parents concerns I would hear one complaint over and over. “Why is my child not potty trained yet?” Parents expect way too much from daycare workers. They expect the daycare to teach it all since they are paying a high price for their child to attend. Personally I did not want daycare workers teaching my son the things that I could teach him. I wanted to be the one to teach him everything, especially things like how to write his name and tie his shoe. When my son was in the preschool room, I asked the pre-k teacher what he should know by the end of pre-k. She gave me a list and he conquered everything on the list before he began pre-k. Many families have both parents working. Child care may be their only option, however I have witnessed too many parents abuse it. Some parents will bring their children into the daycare at 6:30 am and will not pick them up until 6:00 pm. These children do not get the quality time needed with their parents. There were many children who were better off at daycare than at home, so child care was definitely a positive atmosphere for them. Too many times I witnessed a baby take their first step in the nursery. This is a memorable milestone that most parents look forward to. They should be the ones to witness this, not a daycare

While childcare may have some positive benefits to a child’s social and behavioral skills, the negatives outweigh that. Generally the nonparental care of a child being at a childcare place, can take an even bigger toll on the development of a child’s behavioral and social skills.

When Daycare providers communicate with the child in a negative way it can have a greater effect on them after they leave. According to National Institute of Health (NIH)the more time a child spent in a daycare center the more aggressive and noncooperative the child will be. Negativity towards the child can affect their self- esteem. Socially Daycares children are more advanced than students raised at home.

The situation you experienced at your daycare is unfortunate, especially since the children are only two years old. I agree the situation should not have be handled that way. At the daycare I worked at i had co workers i didn't like too much because of the way they would responded to the children. I think their problem was to them the daycare was just a job to make ends meet instead of something they enjoyed.

While there are some caregiver’s that are only in the human service field to earn a paycheck and with the lack of parental involvement in their child’s life, it can make a caregiver’s job more challenging. Daycare centers serve as a stepping stone for a child’s future that will teach them how to establish appropriate skills and aid in the development of their cognitive abilities. Positive child interactions not only aid in the development of social and cognitive development, but also in the child’s self-esteem and it lets them know they are important and loved.

Why spend money that is really needed for other things? Why live uncomfortably? Why be trapped in this hole called a home that belongs to another person? Why not live free and peacefully? When a person rents he or she usually throws away money that could be used to purchase something that belongs to them. Money is not easy to come by so why pay out hundreds toward something that is not benefit to the person paying it out. There is no good explanation for making a decision like this. The best option in a situation like this is to buy a house. Buying a house is a better option than renting an apartment.

I have tried in multiple occasions to have an honest conversation with the mother to try to work together in resolving this misbehavior but she insist that the daycare say this kind of attitude is normal.
