Chapter 7: A Howling Gale in a Splash of Zephyr. “Kyaaahhhhhh!” An ear piercing scream resonates in the Headquarters for Defence. A dark haired woman knocks down the door to Oric’s room with a single kick. “Quick, enough sleep, something's going on outside. Let’s go.” Her voice felt slightly nervous. As they pass through the various rooms and finally the last set of doors, Te and Wolf were found already examining the corpse. Mumbling, the latter begins to speak. “I can’t believe it… there’s nothing wrong… it’s… just a, corpse.” “What do you mean?” Oric takes a slow step towards the frail body which lay on the ground extremely pale in the cold misty weather. “Impossible… another murder… in just one month.” Soi becomes lost in her thoughts …show more content…
Soft eyes glimmered from tree hollows. Soft winds wailed, accompanied by the croaking of cicada. The leafy undergrowth smelt of raw mushrooms and black licorice, together with a bit of smoldering damp wood and strange bakery exhaust fumes, reminiscent of the warm scent which made it’s home in the Shrine of Twen. Little critters began to disappear into their resting spots as the approaching movements became louder. Suddenly the woman stops and shivers uncontrollably, turning towards towards the human, her face was scrunched up in guilt. “It will all… be over, soon.” she mutters and with a burst of speed, she delivers a powerful thrust with the compact dagger concealed underneath her garments. Oric takes a step back, the blade ripping part of his sleeve. Her soft sobs become cries of anguish as she begins to make steady unpredictable swings. Right, Left, Left, Right. Left, Left, …show more content…
His hands wrap around the stone. “Argh… I never attended lady Eliza’s lessons on Essence Control.” A stream of petty chiforce manages to gather, welled up into the tiny mass but there were no reactions not even the slightest. “Come on, come on, come on, you’re boring me… MoRe… MORE radiant lights, MORE beautiful shots and MORE breathtaking ACTION!” Jae does a fancy pose, while pointing five times, at Oric and the four directions around him. Swift movement causes the five consecutive attacks to ultimately fail. “Impossible.” Chiken lady states as she prepares a magical attack. “Way of Fire: Drunken Breath.” Upon command her hands form a triangle shape exit from her mouth. But quickly she halts and thinks for a
“No I am perfectly fine thanks. But really I was in the upstairs room of the building you know and there was a mirror and a monster and…”
He could smell the rotten flesh of the enemy that he killed earlier. The creature stopped trying to get on this side, as if someone had just drained all his energy. The creature was dragging himself towards Andries’s mom’s room, which was on the other side of the hallway. Andries pulled out his pocket knife and lunged towards the creature.
It has been at least an hour and a half since the attack. She does not remember anything that happened. She slowly get up and reaches for the doorknob. A sudden shot of pain went up her arm. Blood then started dripping from her hand. She had been cut. A knife stabbed her in her hand. “Ow.”, She then blacks out.
“Get out of the way!” I yelled, tugging at her sleeve. She shook me off and looked at me once again. I could feel her eyes burning on me, making me sit down. I sat criss-crossed, waiting for the wolves to come at me. I survived a bombing, and I will now die from a hungry pack of wolves. I shut my eyes tight, waiting for them to attack. I waited, and waited, and waited.
She took a quick look around the last turn before the main street that led to the school. She noticed several boys and girls in the alleyways on both sides of the narrow street. It looked as if every class at her school, several young ladies and even her teacher waited for her in ambush. She ducked back before they could see her, hiked up her dress, and ran as fast as her little legs could carry her in the opposite direction of the angry mob. She didn’t stop until she had found the forest path that she needed and breathed a sigh of relief when she heard no one in pursuit. The forest surroundings felt different for some reason and it frightened her. It had a forbidding feel to it this dawn like she had never felt in the past.
She ran as fast as her feet could take her. The moonlight weaved in and out of the branches illuminating spots she could reach. She did not dare to turn back to look over her shoulder because she knew it is how the killer always got the victim. Her white slip teared when it got snagged against a branch. Her fingers gripped the silk material and held it together by the tattered seams. She quickly began her escape once more and found a clearing from the icy branches.
They got close to the elk and Emma said “, I think I hear someone
The stake glimmers in the rising light. It’s clean now. I washed it the same time I washed my clothing. The blood didn’t wash off my shirt though. I look at my reflection in the blade. I haven’t seen bruising on my skin in the reflection, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there. I finger my neck again. It’s sore to the touch. I couldn’t see my reflection well in the water’s tint, but in the knife’s reflection, I can almost pretend the gold colors are from the metal alone.Last night’s nightmare is still behind my eyes—of the terror of Alexis inside the statue—not dead, but dying of starvation. I shudder. I slide my fingers along the transition from dark brown polished wood to gold. My cheeks flush and my lip curls as I think back to me begging Midas and sobbing. I can’t remember the last time I cried. An intrusive image of my mother’s cross and her shallow grave flash through my mind. I mentally vault away from it.“Chrys?” I almost drop my it at Amaru appearing at my side. I stand and shove the
She lowered the knife and it grew even brighter. They hid behind the door trying not to make a sound. The tall, skinny lady looked like she hadn’t gotten any sleep in days, and was very concerned of the bright as the sun pumpkin in front of her. She gently touched the pumpkin with the knife, and it looked like guts and pumpkin seeds were about to splatter all over the walls. The knife went about a half and inch in the pumpkin and a very strong gush of wind went in a circle around the pumpkin like it was forming its own tornado. The lady slowly backed away from the pumpkin till she was pressed up against the wall like something was holding her back, in the dark tiny room in the cellar of the house.
“It’s not that bad. And you’re not that good with creepy and scary stuff are you?” Farren pushed a door open to see a old patient's room.
With a trembling nod, Aileen turned and started going back the way they had come. They snuck past the guards stationed periodically through the forest and fled into the night. Days passed and neither one had said more than ten words. The two girls were traumatized having just watched the only home they had ever known be overrun, so they were not watching where they were going. All of a sudden, twenty Dark Knights leapt out of the forest, swords swinging towards them in a deadly
So he’s left to hold Teahyung’s hand as they stand in front of his family’s graves, staring at cold stones that can’t talk back, can’t offer any protection.
She looked up at Kialsi's ears, then down at her tail, she seemed to be hyperventilating, before she turned and ran off into the night. Kialsi frowned. Huh. She shrugged and then turned to Leon, kneeling down next to him. "You need to be careful." She scolded, "I know that as a brigade you don't usually go to many different worlds, but things are different right now. You need to stay calm and consider where you are before running off." She helped him pick up the fish and broken wood. As Kialsi knelt there next to the red head she suddenly realized what that thick scent was. It was the smell of blood. Her stomach lurched as she looked up, suddenly pale, before she gave a hard shake of her head. This place had blood rituals, she should have expected to smell blood here. But the crude scent was pushing memories into her, Kialsi did her best to keep her hands from shaking as she stood and put the fish onto the
Blood dripped from my knife as I grasped the leather wrapped handle, my hand seemingly frozen. I couldn't bring myself to move my arm or look away. "Did I do this? What have I done? Who am I?" Paralyzed as the crimson liquid built up at the tip of the bright blade, then fell, as if in slow motion. I was snapped from my trance as the glimmering droplet spattered on the dry, hard, dirt. "Who are you. The girl you used to be wouldn't be so heartless." Quickly I snatched up the hem of my tattered, brown cloak. Urgently wiping away the blood, as if that could wipe away the pain, the thoughts, the memories.... "That's not who you are know! She was weak and valuable." I quickly turned and walked swiftly
“Orianna has been on her way for hours” Noske retorted, his comment was followed by a large crashing sound behind him. all four guardians raised their weapons toward the sound, only to see Orianna standing amongst the rubble.
