To facilitate better flow of information adequate Management Information Systems (MIS) is the need of the hour. Thus it is important to have an understanding of the MIS followed in an organization by all levels of management in order to take effective decisions.

The purpose of this report is to explain what “Management Information Systems” (MIS) is. This report will discuss how management information system helps different departments in an organization. The functions and advantages of using MIS will also be examined in this report.
Firstly, I would like to that my supervisors Dr. Jacqueline Whalley-Ogier and Prof. Ajit Narayan for their guidance throughout the project. They helped me and my team so much in decision making and progression of this project. Their constant feedbacks and optimistic viewpoint gave us the great motivation and also made us belief in ourselves and in our ability to complete this project.
Also this papers tackles how these information systems brought Walmart to where it is today and that is at the top of Fortune 500s list for 2 years in a row. Another topic covered would whether these systems are suitable in the long-run. Putting importance in information, this paper also discusses the measures being implemented by organizations to safeguard their information from unauthorized personnel. And at the end, this paper will evaluate the possibility of cloud computing for Wal-mart, its advantages and disadvantages, and the future of computing in the clouds.
The management Information Systems (MIS) is a system that produces reports. This system assists McDonald’s Corporation in producing reports such as employee schedules and expense reports that allow comparisons to budgets. MIS provides profitability and information to help managers and staffs understand the business performance and plan the future direction ("McD Information System," n.d.).
I am also thankful to respective respondents who in spite of their busy schedules extended to me their full co-operation and support. Last but not least i indebted to “Almighty” without whose blessings this project would not be completed. I thank all
Management Information Systems are information system that evaluate, analyse, and process an organisation's data to produce meaningful and useful information which the management team can utilise and make right decisions to ensure future growth of the organisation. These systems include a collection of business processes and individual routines (standard operation procedures) which make up the firms business to achieve high levels of organisational performance. For any information to be efficient and effective, and to add value and knowledge to the business, the information needs to be controlled and managed in the business. An information overflow can provide too much data for management to absorb and thus become irrelevant for decision-making (Boone and Kurtz
We would like to thank our project instructor , Prof.Varisha Rehman, for continuios help and support on the matter in this project.I would like to thank my colleagues for their valuable suggestion and input in making my project.
It is important to understand that the system must be designed and have the ability to administer and maintain the order of capture, analyze, compile, and share the information throughout the company. Any management information is a system that serves the general, predictable management functions with technological advancement
An information system is used within an organization for the purpose of providing the management and other employees with updated information regarding the organization's performance. The information provided includes current sales, and inventory. These information systems are designed, developed, and maintained so they can capture, compile, quantify, analyze, and share information with the various departments within the organization. These systems also have capabilities of sharing information within an organization's multiple sites in real time.
