I followed Michael into the first room we saw in the upstairs hallway. As we walked closer, a threatening sight came into view. Gabby, looking more distressed and panicked than I had ever seen someone before, was tied to a chair with her hands behind her back and a gag wrapped around her mouth. Once I looked at her close enough, I could tell that she was trying to speak through the cloth. She then looked at Michael, her eyes begging for him to help. Before anyone could move toward the restrained girl, Helga stood in the way. “No. Not yet,” she said. “At least take off her gag,” said Michael, somehow sounding very calm about the situation. “She probably needs to say something important.” Helga turned to face Walter, but he shook his head. “We need to get out of here,” he said. I wanted to agreed with him, but another part of me said that Gabby needed to be rescued and taken somewhere away from this house. “It wouldn’t hurt to let her talk,” I spoke up, moving around everyone and walking toward the chair Gabby was restrained to. “Sarah, wait!” I could hear Michael shout behind me, sounding very concerned, as if he thought it could be a trap. However, nothing happened. I reached behind Gabby and started untying the knot in the cloth behind her head until it loosened and fell.
